The Royal Baby Isn’t Even A Week Old And A BBC Broadcaster Published The Most Racist Slur About Him

In 2015, Emmy award-winning host Rodner Figueroa was rightfully dumped from Univision after calling Michelle Obama a monkey during “El Gordo Y La Flaca.” During a segment of the show, the host cracked “Michelle Obama looks like she is of the cast of ‘The Planet Of The Apes,'” as he pointed to a set of pictures of the First Lady. His words shocked and infuriated most people, but let’s be real, few POC were surprised.

Non POC have been associating Black people with monkeys for eons in an effort to denigrate them as less worthy of human than white people.

It is exactly what BBC DJ Danny Baker did and intended to do when he made a joke recently about the debut of the Black Royal Baby yesterday.

The broadcaster Danny Baker was fired by BBC Radio 5 Live yesterday after he published a racist post on Twitter yesterday.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s newborn son, Archie, was compared to a chimpanzee.

The tweet, which has since been taken down by Baker, featured an old photo of a couple holding the hands of a suited chimpanzee. The caption: “Royal baby leaves hospital.”

Fortunately, it didn’t take long for the BBC to give the host the boot and in response tweeted the most unexceptional apology for a racist attack since Rodner Figueroa issued an apology for calling Michelle Obama a monkey and griped at her in an open letter blaming her for his own firing. (“I was verbally notified that a complaint from your office led to my dismissal,” Figueroa whined at the time.

Like Figueroa, Baker also refused to take his medicine and blamed just about everyone else for having “diseased” minds and misinterpreting the tweet.

“Sorry my gag pic of the little fella in the posh outfit has whipped some up. Never occurred to me because, well, mind not diseased,” he wrote in a tweet.

Yes, mi gente, if you ever need an example of how not to make an apology/ blame everyone else for your own wrongdoings just look to a racist white person. Of course, on different levels both Baker and Figueroa’s racist comparisons stem from an even greater issue. Black Power intimidates people who are both white and weak.

But you know what? The Black Baby Prince (and FYI he might a “lord” not technically a “prince” but we’re gonna call him that Black Baby Prince because that is the respect his Black Power deserves) and Michelle Obama stay strong and Black. And like the rest of us who’ve endured similar jokes they are always, always above the peons who couldn’t tell a bad joke from a good one if it fired them from their jobs, swiped their paychecks and slapped them on the face.

Meghan Markle is impressive no doubt about it.

On top of studying French for six years, the Duchess of Sussex completed an internship at the US Embassy in Buenos Aires while attending Northwestern University. There, according to the royal family’s website, she learned to speak Spanish.

It turns out, recently the Royal put her Spanish skills to the test during a visit to a charity organization in Los Angeles.

On June 23 Markle surprised people at Homeboy Industries when she put her Spanish skills to good use.

While working with the organization which supports people moving on after incarceration or gang involvement, Markle and her husband Prince Harry, baked goods alongside group members while learning about their backgrounds. According to People, “To the surprise of the room, Meghan, 38, also began speaking in Spanish with one of the participants.”

“She spoke Spanish perfectly with one young woman,” the group’s founder, Father Greg Boyle, told People in an interview. “She just went right into Spanish, which was a revelation — and it was very good.”

According to Boyle, Meghan and Harry “were completely engaged and very informal” during their volunteer visit. Boyle added that soon after George Floyd’s death, the Duchess of Sussex called him to arrange a visit to volunteer with Homeboy Industries.

“She didn’t want to have a long-table discussion or presentation or even a tour,” Boyle explained. “They knew we pivoted our organization to help address food insecurity in the county and that was intriguing to her, so she said, ‘We want to come and put an apron on,’ and that’s what they did. It was quite wonderful.”

While preparing croissants and baked goods, the couple wore masks and connected with the community.

According to a source that spoke to People it’s not her first time working with Boyle, who has worked at times with her alma mater (Immaculate Heart High School). Years ago, Meghan and her mother Doria Ragland, joined Boyle for a cooking workshop, and Marke “remembers the tamale recipe she learned there to this day.”

According to Boyle, “We were joking about that and she said, ‘I don’t even think Harry even had a tamale before!”

‘Ken’ and ‘Karen’ Strike Again: White Couple Blocks Latino Man From His Own Apartment Building

Another day and another white person – or in this case, a white couple – have terrorized a person of color and gone viral in the process. Many are calling this white couple ‘Ken’ and ‘Karen’ after video shows them blocking a Latino man from entering his own apartment complex.

Michael Barajas, the Mexican-American man who the couple targeted, filmed the incident just as the couple became violent and threatened him with further violence.

The encounter is just the latest after a barrage of similar instances of racial profiling that have continued over the backdrop of anti-racism protests.

A now viral video shows a white couple blocking a Mexican-American man from entering his own apartment complex.

Michael Barajas was pulling into his apartment complex’s garage in San Francisco, when he became the latest victim of a ‘Karen’ and ‘Ken.’ He had just returned home from grocery shopping and used his key fob to open the building’s garage door when suddenly a white SUV pulled in ahead of him and refused to move forward.

The couple in the white SUV claimed Barajas was trespassing, called him a criminal and threatened to call the police.

“That’s fine. Call the cops. Why are you even calling the cops about, Karen?” the video shows Barajas responding.

In an Instagram post, Barajas said the white man “thought I was trying to tailgate them to break in and rob them.” One of Barajas’ neighbors, who is also white, was outside smoking and intervened in the situation. The driver then got out of a white SUV with Florida plates, beat the neighbor up, “and threatened to shoot us if we didn’t leave,” said Barajas.

Barajas says he started filming the incident once the couple got aggressive and threatening.

Barajas, 28, told NBC’s Bay Area affiliate KNTV that the situation kept escalating and turned dramatic when the white man in the car got aggressive, which prompted him to start recording.

“Given the current political climate, and certainly I’m Mexican American, and that rhetoric of us being criminals, it just hit hard, it hit close to home,” Barajas told KNTV.

After several minutes, a bystander who also lives in the apartment complex, intervened. “Dude, pull into your space or go!” the bystander said.

The man, who has since been identified as William Beasley, then exits the SUV from the passenger side, confronts the person who hit his car and reportedly assaults him by knocking him to the ground, according to ABC7 News

According to Barajas, the woman in the SUV then got out to try and coax Beasley back into the car. She also allegedly tried to pay Barajas and the neighbor (who had been assaulted) to not call the cops or file charges.

Since the video’s release, the white man – William Beasley – has been fired from his tech job.

Barajas shared the video of the incident to his Instagram, where it has been seen more than 150,000 times.

Since the video was uploaded, APEX Systems, where Beasley was an employee, has fired him after conducting an internal review of the incident. In a brief statement, they said they would not “tolerate violent or racist behavior of any kind.”

And the apartment complex where the encounter took place, SOMA Residences, said in a statement that they’re ‘actively working to resolve’ the incident and do not condone ‘violent acts, aggression toward any residents, discrimination and harassment.’

Barajas said he’s satisfied with the outcome and feels inspired to keep speaking out on behalf of minorities.

From his apartment complex to the bystander who intervened on his behalf, Barajas said he’s grateful for the response he’s received and for how far he’s been able to come in life.

“I’ve always been from a really poor, poor immigrant family, so I think what happened just struck very hard for me. I felt, for me, that I do not belong here,” he said in a now-deleted Instagram post.

In the same post, he questions what would have happened had this happened to an undocumented person and didn’t know how to handle the situation? It’s a very good point that will cause many people to pause and re-examine how they react to situations like this one.
