New York Police Are Looking For A Man Who Wore A ‘MAGA’ Hat While Attacking A Latino Subway Rider

New York City police are looking to a subway rider who allegedly verbally and physically attacked a fellow subway rider. The victim is a Latino man and the attacker is a black man seen wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat and shirt. The police force in New York City is looking for any leads that could bring them closer to finding the suspect.

A black man wearing a red “Make America Great Again” hat harassed and pushed an unsuspected Latino man onto the tracks in Manhattan.

The incident happened on April 20, and witnesses say the man verbally attacked the 24-year-old Latino passenger.

“You f—ing Mexicans,” the suspect said to the Latino man, the New York Post reports.

He was also heard as saying: “You come here and you take our jobs,” and “You bring drugs.”

The suspect is still at large.

During the verbal attack, witnesses claim the man punched the Latino man in the head several times.

Witnesses say that the Latino man and his friend were on the No. 4 train on Friday at about 8:15 p.m. and that’s roughly when the assault began.

The entire incident occurred inside the Union Station subway platform on 14th street, which is a busy train station.

A friend of the victim was able to rescue him from the tracks and he was rushed to the hospital.

The victim has lacerations to his head from the attack.

Police are circulating CCTV footage of the man on the train platform trying to get any leads.

The police say that anyone with information should call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).

Just days before this incident, a Danish tourist at the same subway station was attacked and his “MAGA” hat was stolen.

ABC News reports that on April 13, at the very exact Union Square station, an 18-year-old Danish teen was wearing the “MAGA” hat and was attacked by two men. The suspects took his hat away and took off. They have yet to be captured.

Thousands of Trump Supporters Are Left Stranded For Hours In the Freezing Cold After His Omaha Rally

Thousands of Trump Supporters Are Left Stranded For Hours In the Freezing Cold After His Omaha Rally

Thousands of Trump supporters were left stranded on an airway in the freezing cold in Omaha, Nebraska after the Trump campaign failed to organize adequate transportation for them after a rally. The MAGA supporters (many of whom were older) stood for hours in 31-degree temperatures, miles away from their cars.

According to reports on the ground, the rally attendees were waiting for buses hours after Trump already took leave on Air Force One. After waiting in confusion and uncertainty, some of the attendees decided to make the cold trek back to their cars. But others didn’t have that luxury.

According to the Omaha Police Department, seven people were transported to the hospital after the event, while thirty others were contacted by the police department for “medical reasons”. Police scanners report that some attendees were suffering from confusion and fatigue–a sign of hypothermia. Police officers who didn’t have an assignment were dispatched to the airfield to “pick up stranded people” who were “wandering in the cold.”

The rally took place at the Eppley Airfield and supporters were apparently initially brought in through the help of the Trump campaign. According to a Fox News reporter, many Trump supporters had arrived hours ahead of time for security reasons. But when it came time to get the attendees back to their cars (which were 3 miles away) the safety of their supporters became less of a priority.

The Trump campaign alleged that a traffic jam prevented buses for transporting attendees back to their cars, but that report is refuted by a local police officer who told a CNN reporter, that they “need at least 30 more buses” in order to smoothly get attendees back to their cars. It seems that lack of organization and foresight on the Trump campaign’s part is what kept his supporters from getting home safely.

It’s worth noting that this is not the first time that the Trump campaign has put the health and safety of their supporters at risk in the name of optics. The Trump campaign notoriously held an indoor rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma back in June that was attended by thousands of people. Masks were not a required, and neither was social distancing. It was at this rally that staunch Trump supporter Hermain Cain contracted COVID-19. He later passed away from complications related to the virus. It is unknown how many others were exposed to the virus at that event.

For some, the recent Omaha rally incident serves as a metaphor for how the Trump Administration treats millions of Americans who blindly support him while he fails to deliver on his false promises. Indeed, Trump has left his supporters “out in the cold” in other ways, like how he recently shelved the stimulus relief bill that would have helped millions of Americans who are on the brink of financial ruin due to COVID-19.

As Nebraska Democratic state senator Megan Hunt tweeted about the incident: “What people will do for this con man, what people have sacrificed, is so sad to me. He truly does not care about you.”

Prince Harry Says Being Married to Meghan Markle Taught Him About Unconscious Bias: ‘I Had No Idea it Existed’

Prince Harry Says Being Married to Meghan Markle Taught Him About Unconscious Bias: ‘I Had No Idea it Existed’

Prince Harry continues to shed his upper crust image by tackling important social issues head-on. On Monday, the Duke of Sussex sat down with UK Black Lives Matter activist Patrick Hutchinson for a conversation with GQ. In the conversation, Prince Harry admitted that he “had no idea” unconscious bias existed before he experienced it firsthand through the treatment of his wife, Meghan Markle.

The GQ conversation focused on hot-button topics like structural racism, unconscious bias, and the responsibility of white people to educate themselves on the aforementioned topics.

Prince Harry started the conversation of by commending Hutchinson for his activist worth and adding that there’s still “lots of work to do” when it comes to dismantling racism worldwide. The conversation turned personal when the two began to discuss unconscious bias, with Hutchinson broaching the subject.

“There are a lot of people who either don’t think that [racism] exists or they don’t want change and they’re fighting against it. And I don’t know what these people are afraid of,” said Hutchinson.

Prince Harry became personal, revealing that his background as the literal Prince of England had made him ignorant to the widespread nature of racism before.

“Unconscious bias… having the upbringing and the education that I had, I had no idea what it was. I had no idea it existed.” He then admitted: “Sad as it is to say, it took me many, many years to realize it [existed], especially then living a day or a week in my wife [Meghan]’s shoes.”

Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle started dating in 2016, Markle has been on the receiving end of vicious media attacks–many of them fueled by racism.

At the time, Prince Harry condemned the British press for their treatment of Markle. He released a statement decrying the “racial undertones of comment pieces” and the “outright sexism and racism of social media trolls” that Markle has to deal with. Recently, Meghan spoke about the hate her and Harry receive for being in an interracial marriage.

Prince Harry described unconscious bias to Hutchinson as largely beyond people’s control, but worth addressing once you’re aware of it. “No one’s blaming anybody,” Prince Harry said.

“You can’t really point fingers, especially when it comes to unconscious bias. But once you realize or you feel a little bit uncomfortable, then the onus is on you to go out and educate yourself, because ignorance is no longer an excuse.”

Both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been on the receiving end of criticism for their vocal support of the Black Lives Matter movement and their video campaigns urging people to vote in the upcoming election.

About dismantling structural racism, Prince Harry said, “It’s going to take every single one of us to really change things and anyone that’s pushing against it really needs to take a long, hard look at themselves in the mirror.”

He continued: “This isn’t black versus white…This is a global movement. The train has left the station. If you’re not on it now, then get on it because there’s so much that we can do.”
