Camila Cabello Went From Marching In The Streets Of Los Angeles To Winning Her Award For Favorite Breakout Artist At The Kids Choice Awards

Camila Cabello used her moment in the Kids Choice Awards spotlight to thank the young people fighting for change.

After marching in the streets of Los Angeles with her parents and her younger sister, Camila Cabello made it to the Kids Choice Awards to receive her award for Favorite Breakout Artist. Cabello used her award acceptance speech to acknowledge the youth community that is leading the March For Our Lives movement. Seeing hundreds of “young people being brave and kind and compassionate for each other, and speaking up” really moved Cabello. She closed her speech with a message to the youth community of America, saying, “Every kid in this room and every kid watching at home, the future is yours, the world is yours.”

Cabello was one of hundreds of thousands of protestors nationwide letting the current administration know that enough is enough. The March For Our Lives event attracted some of the biggest names in entertainment for a common goal: gun reform. Cabello didn’t march alone. Her mother, father, and sister joined her on the streets in LA demanding that Congress begin passing legislation on gun reform.

Here is Cabello with her younger sister at the Los Angeles march.

Cabello wrote in the post that she was so moved by the powerful display of unity by young people at the march. The March For Our Lives demonstration in LA was one of more than 800 sister demonstrations accompanying the one in Washington.

Other award winners who dedicated their acceptance speeches to the March For Our Lives Movement were Millie Bobby BrownZendaya, and YouTube star Liza Koshy.

Shawn Mendes rose to fame at 15-years-old through the defuncted social media platform Vine. Years later, he is a worldwide pop sensation but even he falls victim to body image issues. Just goes to show that even famous men have problems with their own bodies.

Shawn Mendes is a certified hottie and that is just a fact.

The “Treat You Better” singer has made men and women swoon around the world with his classical good looks and stunning physique. The Canadian singer-songwriter has been a heartthrob since he broke into the pop music scene and his fans are not letting him down anytime soon.

Yet, Mendes recently admitted that he struggled with body image issues.

In an interview with British GQ, Mendes admits that he struggled with maintaining a healthy body image and self-confidence. The stress of fame and the constant public attention fed into Mendes’ own self-confidence and body image issues.

“‘“If you don’t work out, you’re going to lose fans,’” Mendes told British GQ about what he would tell himself.

The “Wonder” artist would get up two hours early to be able to work out.

Mendes admitted that he would sacrifice sleep and his own health to get the body he thought everyone wanted to see. His Calvin Klein campaign added to his body image issues because of the cultural impact of Calvin Klein campaigns.

Mendes recalled his loved ones helping him by saying, “You are not your body. You are not your voice. You are not your songs. You are you and people love you because of you.”

Mendes thanks his girlfriend, Camila Cabello, for helping him on his journey of self-love.

Mendes saw Cabello’s own strength in the face of body shaming. Cabello faced an onslaught of body shaming that dwarfed what he was feeling and going through.

“So strong, so clear and confident with her [body] and so articulate and empathetic about other people’s,” Mendes told British GQ about Cabello. “and it really changed my view of mine. It really changed my life.”

Quarantine has become a chance for Mendes to figure who he wants to be.

Mendes wants to show the world another side of him, which is his vulnerable side. He wants men to understand there’s a difference between being obsessed with your abs and being healthy.

Everyone Has Thoughts And Concerns About Camila Cabello And Shawn Mendes’ Quarantine Walks

E News/ Twitter

There’s no denying that throughout their relationship, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello have drawn in attention. Particularly when it comes to their behavior.

Need proof? Just remember that out-of-the-blue moment last year when the two felt compelled to show the world that they french “normally” after fans roasted them for when they “kissed like fish.” The two seemed to have a pretty great sense of humor about of course because they responded with a very strange make-out video.

Now the two singers and bf/ gf duo are raising eyebrows again amidst the Coronavirus pandemic.

The two were caught on a stroll in Miami, walking hand-in like zombies.

Walking as slowly as can be, the two were caught walking at a snail’s pace.

Fortunately, the couple is taking part in some much-needed self-quarantine for the sake of the public’s health and they are doing so in Miami. The two have been spotted taking long walks around Miami and have also been creatively productive. Recently they both performed alongside each other in Cabello’s home for iHeart Radio’s concert series.

Fans of Cabello and Mendes have been teasing the two for taking their sweet time on this walk.

In response to the walk, E! News tweeted, “Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s walk is as slow as the month of March feels.”

But who can really blame them?

We’re all pretty exhausted from all of the self-isolating.

Many are joking that Covid-19 has mutated into a zombie situation.

TBH it does feel kind of a lot like we’re in one.

Of course, people had some hilarious memes to roast these two with.

TBH their slow walk is pretty much all of us waiting to get out of quarantine.
