Hundreds Of Trump’s Senior Policy Advisor’s Emails Supporting White Supremacy Have Been Leaked

 White House aide Stephen Miller has been a controversial threat to the integrity and soundness of the White House since he was named Senior Advisor to the President for Policy in 2016. The right-wing political activist and white nationalist has frequently espoused beliefs and talking points of white supremacists and the alt-right. His policies and beliefs have proved to be a stark contrast to New York representative Alexandria-Ocasio-Cortez, a democrat and activist who has made advocacy for the rights of minorities a cornerstone of her own platform.

Recently the two politicians have gone head to toe after AOC called for Miller’s resignation after it was revealed that he had promoted white supremacist articles in the recent past.

Representative Ocasio-Cortez recently called on the White House senior adviser and immigration policy architect to resign this week.

On Tuesday, the Southern Poverty Law Center released over nine hundred of Miller’s emails that had been sent to Breitbart News editors between 2015 and 2016.

After the release of hundreds of Miller’s emails promoting white nationalist content and extremely restrictive immigration policies was released, AOC called for his resignation. Miller’s leaked emails showed that he promoted and shared stories that appeared on white nationalist websites and sparked outrage online and amongst liberal politicians.

Addressing the emails, AOC described Miller as “Trump’s architect of mass human rights abuses at the border” she went onto say that he “has been exposed as a bonafide white nationalist. He’s still at the White House shaping US immigration policy. Miller must resign. Now.” She followed up her tweets with a petition that demanded Miller’s resignation and reads “A white nationalist is currently serving as a top advisor to the President of the United States. In 2019. … This man cannot serve in the White House.”

According to the Southern Poverty Law Center over 80 percent of the leaked emails were sent while Miller served as an aide to Jeff Sessions during his time as a senator. The SPCL claims that the emails primarily touched on race and immigration.

One of the emails shows that Miller sent a Breitbart staffer a link to VDARE, an extremely influential website among white nationalists.

Other emails showed links to the right-wing website InfoWars, a media organization that has been sued by Sandy Hook families for their promotion of false conspiracy theories that the shooting, which took place in 2012 and killed 20 children and six adults, was staged.

According to SPCL, Miller also sent an email to Katie McHugh, a former Breitbart employee who has renounced her views since working at the site, that the survivors of the 2015 hurricane, Patricia “could be given temporary protected status, and that it needed to be ‘the weekend’s BIG story.'”

In response to the leaks a Breitbart spokesperson said “The SPLC claims to have three- to four-year-old emails, many previously reported on, involving an individual whom we fired years ago for a multitude of reasons, and you now have an even better idea why we fired her. Having said that, it is not exactly a newsflash that political staffers pitch stories to journalists — sometimes those pitches are successful, sometimes not.”

Since the emails were leaked, Democrats beside AOC have been quick to strike Miller down.

In a series of tweets, Caroline Orr, a reporter for the National Observer, said that “Stephen Miller emailed Breitbart 900+ times from 2015-2016 to lay out his anti-immigrant policies. His source material included: -White nationalist websites -A “white genocide”-themed novel -Eugenics-era laws that Adolf Hitler lauded in “Mein Kampf.””

 Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota has also called for Mr. Miller to resign. Rep. Earl Blumenauer, stated in a tweet that Miller Stephen Miller should never have been hired and should be fired immediately. While Senator Bernie Sanders said “Stephen Miller’s white nationalist views are a danger to the American people. We are going to defeat this hateful administration and everything it stands for.”

Stevey Harvey Made a Tacky Joke About Miss Colombia and the Internet Isn’t Having It

Dailymail / Twitter

After the 2015 Miss Universe disaster where Steve Harvey erroneously crowned Miss Colombia? who? the winner of the pageant when Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach was actually the winner, we assumed that Harvey would try to be on his best behavior from now on. But of course, Steve Harvey being Steve Harvey, he couldn’t play it straight for too long. And, once again, he’s embroiled himself in another controversy–again, involving Miss Colombia.

From the get-go, Harvey started off his hosting gig awkwardly, immediately addressing his 2015 headline-making mix-up. He then proceeded to make an off-color joke about the fiasco. “Colombia’s gotten over that. They’ve forgiven me,” he quipped. “Well, not all of them. The cartel’s still tripping a little bit”.

As if this opening joke weren’t offensive enough, Harvey continued to rag on Colombia when announcing that Miss Colombia Gabriela Tafur had qualified for the Top 20.

After being announced, Tafur approached Steve Harvey, joking with him a little about his his famous absentmindedness. “Yes, I’m here,” she joked. “Are you sure you read correctly? Should I go back?”.

Harvey admitted to Tafur that he was “struggling” with his hosting duties, to which Tafur replied, “You’re forgiven”. Sensing an opportunity to shoe-horn in another narco joke, Harvey said: “You’ve forgiven me, not the cartel…They’re not handling it the same way.”

Tafur, although she looked as if she were trying to be a good sport and smile it off, appeared to become a bit more frozen after he cracked the joke. It also should be noted that the audience didn’t seem to respond well to the joke–there was little laughter to be heard coming from the crowd.

The backlash to Harvey’s joke was swift, with Colombians accusing the comedian of perpetuating negative stereotypes about  their beloved South American country.

The truth is, pageantry is an important aspect of many Latino cultures–especially ones in South America. Part of the reason that many of these women join pageants is to be a positive representation of their country for the rest of the world.

There is even a “National Costume Show” portion of the competition where contestants dress up in outfits that illustrate an authentic aspect of the culture of their home country. No country is perfect and the pageant isn’t meant shouldn’t be turned into a platform to single out a country and bring attention to its flaws.

Miss Colombia, for her part, took to Twitter herself to drag Harvey for his offensive joke.

Although many people still associate Colombia drugs, gangs, and violence, its murder rate has fallen to 25% in the last 25 years. In 2016, the Colombian government and the guerrilla Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia signed a peace treaty with the goal of putting an end to a violent civil war that has last 52 years. The treaty included switch illegal crops like coca with alternatives, hopefully minimizing opportunity for drug traffickers. Since then, Colombia’s homicide rate has dropped to an all-time low

Not only was the audience unimpressed with Harvey’s inappropriate joke, but Twitter was too.

It’s one thing to slip up once, make an inappropriate joke, and then stop after you’ve learned the error of your ways. Harvey continued to make Colombia the butt of his jokes and he crossed the line.

This person made a point to call out Steve Harvey for trying to embarrass Colombia on a worldwide stage.

Miss Colombia is chosen to be a representative about the best parts of her country. Tafur has nothing to do with cartels.

This person explained how Harvey’s “joke” was disrespectful to actual victims and survivors of cartel violence.

Believe it or not, cartel violence is an epidemic in Colombia. We guarantee that if Harvey experience the violence in person, he wouldn’t be making light of the situation on international TV.

In an event as globally inclusive as Miss Universe, it’s imperative to recognize that no country is perfect.

Colombians are tired of being thought of as narcos and drug addicts in the eyes of the world.

This Twitter user was full of kind words for a woman who handled an uncomfortable situation with such grace

I like how @IAmSteveHarvey makes a joke about the cartel to #MissColombia and then cut to her package and she’s like “I’m a lawyer and have been fighting violence in my country.” Get it girl. And Steve, sit down man. #MissUniverse

Jennifer Lopez Did A Sketch About Gold Hoops On SNL And I Feel Attacked

SNL / NBC

Jennifer Lopez AKA actress, singer, dancer, producer, businesswoman, fashion designer, fashion icon AKA Hoop Queen returned to the SNL stage after a decade. This time, while boasting about her beauty and brains she also hilarious made fun of her life-long obsession with hoops.

In the most hilarious sketch from the SNL episode, Lopez made jokes about our love for hoops.

SNL / NBC

Starring as Gino’s Girlfriend, Lopez played the owner of a store with Melissa Villaseñor as Her Cousin. In the sketch the pair do an ad for massive gold hoops that are so luxurious they’ll “turn your ears the color of money.”

In the fun sketch, Lopez is dressed like a more played up Bronx version of herself as she sells jewelry that says, “I fight other women.”  According to Lopez, as Gino’s Girlfriend, the hoops (as we all know) can be worn just a bout anywhere including birthday dinners, anniversary trips, an ex-boyfriend’s wedding, interviews about women on the street with subway problems, confront Barbara, accusing Barbara, crawling back to Barbara and Saturday Mass. The skit jokes that you can wear them to. Christening and just about everyone will think you look like a “rapper’s accountant.”

The sketch even made fun of our propensity for putting words in a hoop.

SNL / NBC

Jabbing fun at our nameplate earrings and vanity necklaces, the Jennifer Lopez skit hilariously featured earrings with names, descriptions, and places on them. The hilarious descriptions of the lot included “diabetic,” and mistakenly created brands like “Couch” for Coach and “DKNYPD” for DKYN.

The entire sketch, and J.Lo, proved to be a joke machine with the best nod to J.Lo’s Bronx roots.

Watch the full sketch here.

Our No. 1 Boricua, Jenny from the Block, has been an icon through the ages for winning in the music, movie and fashion industries. Rumors swirled around her insuring her signature booty for a over a million dollars back in the 2000’s, but how have we not acknowledged her incredible locks that deserve a policy of its own.

While she’s known for her long waves, J.Lo has never been afraid of mixing it up over the decades. Get ready for the throwbacks.

1. The Classic J.Lo Look

 @creativehairtools / Instagram

This iconic, tousled wavy, waist-length look wouldn’t be complete without her subtle highlights and the way Lopez makes it look so effortless. I’ve tried to get this look. It is a feat.

2. Big Curls, Little Bob.

 “Voluminous Curls” Digital Image. Allure. 28 May 2018.

J.Lo brought it back to the 1920s by creating a side part, getting in some wide curls and tousling with lots (and lots) of hair spray. How she looks so perfect all the time, we can only guess at.

3. The Sleek Topknot.

 “The Topknot.” Digital Image. Allure. 28 May 2018.

We have all experienced the pain of our mothers combing our hair back into the tightest possible ponytail. According to my mom, it’s a two-fer: a proper hairdo and a way to pull your forehead back and prevent wrinkles. Jennifer keeps it in place with a neat topknot for a sleek, elegant look.

4. The Latina Faux Hawk.

 “The Faux Hawk” Digital Image. Allure. 28 May 2018.

There are faux hawks and then there are Latinx faux hawks. Our faux hawks have more volume and should give you an extra 5-7″ in height. J.Lo does it best.

5. The Loose Slick Back.

 “The Slick Back” Digital Image. Allure. 28 May 2018.

Please note that in order to achieve any of these looks, you will need a good hair gel and a tiny comb. Probably also your own personal hair dresser, if you want to be like J.Lo.

6. The Tight Curl Mid-Part.

 Pinterest

The only way to complete this look is with a chain-neck, metal sheet halter top and butterfly clips to pull back the part. Take me back to the ’90s.

7. The Bandana ‘N Braids Look.

 “[IMG]” Digital Image. The Coli. 28 May 2018.

J.Lo rocked this look at the 2000 MTV Music Awards.

Here’s how to get it: Your hair has to be half-up, half-down, to make your ponytail look longer, and you must be wearing braids to pull this off. A starched headband is also preferable. Also, hoops like J.Lo’s.

8. The Hide Your Hair to Show Off Your Face Look.

 “A Dazzling Headscarf” Digital Image. Allure. 28 May 2018.

When you’re Latina, you can pull this off. When you’re J.Lo, you can get a matching headscarf to go with your sparkly, taupe suit.

9. The Deep Brunette Perm.

 Bewitching Vibe / Pinterest

The early ’90s obsession with deep brown, curly hair was glorious for many Latinas. That baby face rocked it well.

10. Caramel Highlights.

 Untitled. Digital Image. Cosmopolitan. 16 May 2018.

#NeverForget the era of caramel highlights. Our moms did it by squeezing lemon juice in our hair, and the occasional kool-aid for a red tint. J.Lo *might* have used a professional.

11. The 50-Inch Hair Extensions.

 @laurielainehair / Instagram

J.Lo doesn’t usually need to do much to her hair to stun the red carpet, but at this year’s Billboard Latin Music Awards, her iconic hair went past her iconic butt.

12. It grew when she went on stage to perform “Inches.”

 @kayla_jlover / Instagram

ICYMI, the next Billboard Music Award she attended, she wore a $100 bill on her fingernails.

13. Beach Waves.

 @kayla_jlover / Instagram

When your hair is this long, you can give yourself a beach wave look and lose hardly any length. J.Lo smoky eye and glossy lips really glam this look up from beach-ready, to runway-ready TBH.

14. The Side Part.

 @jlo.xox9 / Instagram

This is a look circa the ’90s.

15. The Updated Side Part.

 @kayla_jlover / Instagram

J.Lo let her tresses down loose and wavy, while slicking back just a single side part to show off her face, and earrings. This look is so uniquely elegantly Latina, we think she should trademark it.

16. The Half-Up, Half-Down Topknot.

 @kayla_jlover / Instagram

Meet my daily look (minus 20″ of hair). It’s a mix of a tight, full-face slick back that gives you an up-do and casual look all in one sweep. No fake hair accessories needed for J.Lo.

17. Bring on the volume.

 @kayla_jlover / Instagram

With a dark lipliner to frame her lips, how can she not frame that face with a deep, hairspray-induced voluminous look that can’t be beat.

18. The High Pony.

 @jlo_elo / Instagram

Iconic. Nobody does it better. The look is nothing without a pair of modern hoops, and a teased pony.

19. The Ultra-High Pony.

 @headkandi / Instagram

With the hair wrapped around the band at the top and wide, loos curls splaying out. I have a feeling this is a half-up, half-down look to add more volume, too.

20. The Short-Term Perm.

 @jlo_elo / Instagram

J.Lo was feelin’ herself with this look, that’s for sure. It’s fun, it’s light and J.Lo is taking it seriously.

21. The Full Slick.

 @fashionstreet_world / Instagram

J.Lo’s Met Gala look this year was a fierce lob. She slicked her hair behind the ear to show off her earrings, and topped it off with a side part. J.Lo
