Before the Snuggie was all the rage in the late 2000s, anyone who grew up Mexican (or around Mexicans) knew there was another blanket that always came through in the clutch: the San Marcos blanket. Thick, super warm, and decorated with some sort of wild animal (or peaceful landscape), San Marcos blankets were always there for you when you needed a little comfort. The San Marcos legend remains strong, even though the company that originally manufactured the blankets has gone out of business: listen to anyone describe a copycat blanket and you’ll most likely hear them describe it as a “San Marcos.” So, what would some of these iconic blankets look like if they had a modern touch?
