NBA star Carmelo Anthony is probably not the first person you’d expect to see wandering through Rio’s favelas, but that’s exactly who showed up this past week. Already in the country for the Olympics, the 6’8” Knicks star took advantage of a day off from competition to get his tour on, as well as playing a pick-up game with several local kids. From the video above, it’s safe to say that the young b-ball enthusiasts got the experience of a lifetime. Hey, who knows, maybe Carmelo can helped smooth over the U.S.’s reputation in light of that whole Ryan Lochte situation.
Boom, Carmelo making kid’s dreams come true!
