“Did Donald Trump inspire you to vote this year?”

Jordan Klepper from “The Daily Show” went on the road to investigate the recent increase of legal permanent residents becoming U.S. citizens in order to vote in this year’s election.

Imagine this gringo’s shock when he learned that Latinos were being inspired by Donald Trump to vote. Legal residents are signing up to become full-fledged U.S. citizens to vote to prevent a Trump presidency. That’s right. Socking, isn’t it?

Before someone tries to get it all twisted, the people who are mobilizing in huge numbers to become citizens are people who immigrated here legally but never felt compelled to become U.S. citizens. That is, until Trump became the Republican frontrunner and they knew the it was time to act. Watch the interview with the Trump supporter who has NO idea what Trump’s plans are or how math works. In the sketch, posted by Colombian-born actress Carolina Ravassa, the members of the ALAS (Ambiguous Latina Actress Support) Group vent about not getting roles as Latinas because they’ve been told they simply don’t look the part…

Whether they’re black…

Our only question is: where are the indigenous Latinas?! We barely get to see their faces or hear their stories in movies or on TV, either. (Oh, and when’s the next meeting?)
