Remember the 33 Chilean miners that were trapped underground for 69 days?

Like, literally trapped, about 2,000 feet beneath the Earth’s surface with hardly any food or electricity.
In 2010, everyone was talking about it. The collapse sparked an international media frenzy.
People cringed when they found out the miners stayed alive by consuming:

10 bottles of water, 18 cans of tuna, 93 packs of cookies, and 24 liters of condensed milk… among other small snacks.

Above ground, the miner’s families set up camp…

And waited for their loved ones to be rescued.
And soon we discovered news about an affair!

When miner Yonni Barrios was rescued, the woman who greeted him was his mistress, not his wife. Yikes!
Eventually, all the miners were rescued and Chile celebrated like crazy.

Five years later, there’s a movie about their ordeal, The 33.
