Romeo Santos Can Now Add CEO To His Resume

Highest-grossing Latino singer Romeo Santos, who was named Billboard’s Top Latin Artist in 2014 and 2015, can now add the CEO to his resume.

Roc Nation, owned by Jay Z himself, has asked Santos to lead the way in their new label: Roc Nation Latino. Jay Z made a gleeful statement welcoming Santos aboard. “This is a tremendous step for Roc Nation,” said Jay. “We recognize there is a huge Latin market that is a part of global culture. We’re proud and ready to enter into true partnership with an individual that intimately lives and knows that culture.”

Apparently the conversation between Santos and Z started four years ago and finally came to fruition. As Latino music takes center stage in America, big business wants to milk it for the cash cow it is, and Jay Z is no exception.

In an interview with Billboard, the “Odio” singer confessed he’s always “idolized” Jay Z“We both come from the ‘hood and he gets it.” Santos will also be co-managed by Roc Nation along with his longtime manager Johnny Marines who is president of Roc Nation Latin.

Santos is quite happy to take a greater leadership role in the Latino music industry, as he told billboard, “This is my way of giving back.”
