The Real Life Scandals That Prove Telenovela Actors Are Nothing But DRAMA
You know what’s crazier and more scandalous than a telenovela plot? The actual real-life scandals of telenovela stars. You couldn’t make this stuff up if you tried.
Héctor Soberón and Michelle Vieth: The Sex Tape

Héctor Soberón and Michelle Vieth met on the set of “Mi Pequeña Traviesa,” the novela responsible for getting OV7’s hit song “Te Quiero Tanto Tanto” stuck in your head. It also generated enough chemistry between Soberón and Vieth that they eventually married in 2002. Two years later, a home video of Vieth doing it with someone was leaked and OMAIGA it was a big deal. Why? Because up until then, Vieth had a *squeaky* clean image. Her husband, Héctor Soberón, was suspected of leaking the video, and the couple split up. But Soberón, who finally had his marriage to Vieth annulled in 2015, maintains he had nothing to do with it.
William Levy: Sued for Sexual Battery of a Minor

It’s true. In 2010, a 17-year-old accused Levy of luring her to his hotel room using “deception and trickery.” The girl’s lawsuit also alleged that Levy forced her to perform sexual acts on him, which led to the girl getting an STD. WHOA! Levy counter sued for defamation and extortion. The whole thing ended up being dismissed right around the time the Cuban-American was capturing the hearts of America on season 14 of “Dancing with the Stars.”
David Zepeda: Masturbating Video Selfie

Last year, a video featuring David Zepeda pleasuring himself was leaked and the press ate it up. Although Zepeda admitted he was embarrassed by the leak, the “Hasta El Fin del Mundo” star said he had no plans of pursuing legal action. The damage was already done and Zepeda said he would rather focus his energies elsewhere.
Niurka Marcos: Banned by Televisa and TV Azteca
After appearing in several telenovelas, tabloid staple Niurka Marcos got her own reality TV show, “Espectacularmente Niurka.” When it was cancelled, let’s just say that Niurka was not shy about calling Televisa network execs “incompetent.” Apparently, Televisa retaliated by banning her from their airwaves. But they weren’t done: Televisa, Mexico’s biggest TV network, reportedly asked its competitor, TV Azteca, to do the same.
Eiza González: Leaked Photos, Make Out Sessions and Michael Jackson Comparisons
The “Lola, Érase Una Vez” actress is no stranger to scandal. In 2014, Gonzalez appeared to be the victim of a nude photo leak. Gonzalez denied it, firing back on Twitter: “It’s not me, it’s a Colombian actress. Kisses!” Then there was a public make out session with Liam Hemsworth that happened like a day after he and Miley Cyrus announced they broke up. And unfortunately, Gonzalez has been dubbed by some as the “Michael Jackson of Mexico” for her supposed addiction to plastic surgery. She does look good, though.
Kate del Castillo: BFFs with El Chapo and Invites Sean Penn to a Slumber Party

This has got to be the craziest scandal involving a telenovela star EVER! Kate del Castillo, who played a drug lord in “Reina del Sur,” sent out a controversial tweet in 2012 that led her to develop a friendship with real life narco, Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzmán. Last year, del Castillo invited Sean Penn to sleep over at Guzmán’s hideaway, while El Chapo was on the lam from his second prison escape. And it all culminated with El Chapo’s latest recapture. Movie to follow soon…
