Mexico Has Had Enough Of Trump, This Is Their Solution

Donald Trump’s racist comments against Mexicans have done a lot of damage across the country, so in an effort to get back at him, Mexican legislators are asking President Enrique Peña Nieto to ban the S.O.B. from Mexico.

“What we’re saying is that if he wants to build a wall so that Mexicans can’t enter his country, then he is not welcome in our country,” Deputy José Manuel Delgadillo said. “What we need now is for President Peña Nieto to make a strong statement condemning Mr. Trump’s anti-Mexican comments.” Totally fair point.

Deputy Víctor Hugo Romo who presented the recommendation did so by comparing Trump to Hitler. “Hitler was very popular,” he said. “He generated a lot of sympathy by adopting nationalist politics that vindicated the Germans’ sense of self-worth. [Trump] is practically a copy. I consider Donald Trump a chauvinist, a misogynist who fosters and leans towards repression. … He doesn’t respect diversity.” Previously, he accurately described Trump as “primeval, egocentric and primitive.”

However, in spite of the legislators’ recommendations, President Peña Nieto has said nothing publicly about Trump and his chief of staff, Francisco Guzmán, seemed lukewarm about the situation saying “Anyone who becomes president of the United States will have to work with Mexico. It would be difficult to reverse 20 years of integration.”

That’s the thing though, Trump is all about reversing all types of progress in an effort to “Make America Great Again”… whatever that means.

Bernie Sanders Ad Puts a Face to Those Who Pick the Food You Eat

One of the biggest criticisms people have of Bernie Sanders is that his message of income inequality brushes aside the needs of communities of color. This ad, titled “Tenemos Familias,” does a fantastic job at invalidating that argument.

The 5-minute video, which is as much a short documentary as it is a campaign ad, focuses on Udelia, a migrant worker picking tomatoes in Immokalee, Flo. Udelia talks about the abuse she and other migrant workers have gone through all to make what’s pretty much slave wages. Despite the injustice and adversity, Udelia’s tone is hopeful; she believes that her sacrifices will make the American Dream possible for her children.  If this video doesn’t pull at your heart strings, consult your doctor because you might not have one at all.

“Tenemos Familia” will run nationally on Univision this Thursday evening. The Sanders campaign hopes it will help move the needle with Latino voters in Florida (their Democratic primary takes place on March 15), a state where Hillary Clinton has a double-digit lead over him.
