The New York Times has selected its 52 places to visit in 2016 and, at the very top, at No. 1 is Mexico City!
Their selection is not random, but actually quite selective. Mexico City topped the list because of its evolving restaurants, shopping centers, and museums — DUH! The metropolis is a cultural experience with touches of indigenous and European architecture and style and there’s no place like it. Although there are dangerous corners in the city, as a whole, it’s a lot safer than it was in the 90s.
Other Latin American spots that made the list are Isla Holbox, Mexico at No. 32, Todos Santos, Mexico at 23, Garzón, Uruguay at 21 and Road of the Seven Lakes, Argentina at 15.
So we hope traveling is one of your new year’s resolutions!
