Lin Manuel Miranda Just Rap Battled “The Tonight Show” Into Submission

Fans of the massively successful “Hamilton” are already more than aware of Lin Manuel Miranda’s ability to spit.

The two-hour musical is a relentless masterpiece of word play and storytelling, so riveting it took home 11 Tony awards. While that’s great and all, Jimmy Fallon decided to put Lin Manuel to the true test of rhymes: the rap battle. No matter how good a person is at reciting words from paper, there’s nothing quite as amazing as watching two rappers clown on one another in real time. On last night’s episode of The Tonight Show, Miranda found himself going head to head with Tariq a.k.a. Black Thought from The Roots in an epic war of the words. One catch for the segment: They had to incorporate random words from Fallon’s FREESTYLE GENERATOR.

Needless to say, Miranda didn’t throw away his shot.

“Once again I’m in a very tricky spot. I’m gonna win the Emmy like Mr. Robot…” SHOTS FIRED.

Tariq’s freestyle destroyed everyone and nearly took Miranda out of the game.

Being the pro that he is, Lin Manuel went in for another round. Do yourself a favor and check out the clip to watch the chaos unfold.

Lin-Manuel Miranda Deserves To Host SNL Because He Is Lin-Manuel Miranda

Who else is excited to see Lin-Manuel Miranda on “Saturday Night Live?”

Our televisions will be blessed this weekend when Lin-Manuel Miranda hosts “Saturday Night Live.” To get you even more excited for what will surely be a great episode, Miranda and cast member Cecily Strong shot the above promos. Essentially, they’re a series of confessions with some truly awkward moments. The promos are cute, except for that whole part where Cecily Strong asked Miranda to autograph a few things, including her “Hamilton” playbill, his hat from “In The Heights,” and, somehow, his chalice from his First Communion. Like, dayum. Calm down, Cecily. Stalker much? This seems like it might be a very awkward episode.
