Leonardo DiCaprio says Working with Alejandro G. Iñárritu was the Reason He Did ‘The Revenant’
“I have to say we all have post-traumatic syndrome.”
In a recent Q&A with Variety, Leonardo DiCaprio joined director Alejandro G. Iñárritu to talk about their latest film, The Revenant. When asked about the film’s grueling shooting schedule (in extremely cold conditions), DiCaprio said he wouldn’t have had it any other way. The 41-year-old actor said the opportunity to work with Iñárritu made it worth the experience.
“The real truth is, it was the attachment of Alejandro in this film, ‘cause I felt like it was going to be like going down the ‘heart of darkness’ together, you know what I mean? It was gonna be a mecca or a voyage we were going to go on,” said DiCaprio.
Later in the Q&A, Iñárritu talks about his choice to film in natural light, and cast members Will Porter and Forrest Goodluck share stories from the set.
