David Ortiz announced earlier this year that he’s retiring at the end of the season.
The Dominican-born slugger was instrumental in ending the Boston Red Sox 86-year-old World Series title drought. He also helped them win a title in 2007 and 2013.
Good idea: The Red Sox thought it was appropriate to put some respek on Big Papi’s name, so they organized a bobblehead night.
Bad idea: They made the bobblehead look like this.

But instead of jumping head first into a public relations nightmare and further perpetuate the notion that Boston is a very racist city, the Red Sox chose to pull the bobblehead instead.

When he heard the news, David Ortiz reacted like this:
Just kidding. “That’s supposed to be me?” Ortiz said, laughing it off.
