ICYMI: The Memes after Ronda Rousey’s Loss Were Just as Brutal as Her KO

UFC Female Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey was the victim of a stunning upset at UFC 193, where challenger Holly Holm thoroughly dominated the champ en route to a second round knock out. Holm, an experienced boxer and kickboxer, used her reach to keep Rousey at a distance and then peppered the champ with punches, elbows and a kick to the head that sealed the deal. Like clockwork, the memes began hitting the internet practically as soon as Rousey hit the canvas. No matter what heights you reach, you can count on social media to pile it on when you’re knocked down. Here are some of the memes that made the rounds:

Rousey joined Manny Pacquiao, Johnny Manziel and a few others on “Mount Rushmore.”

Young Simba arrived to check on Rousey’s health.

And Holly Holm read Rousey a few bedtime stories.

Argentinian MMA Fighter Took Down Man Who Tried To Steal Her Phone

Radio Brisas / YouTube

There are few things more aggravating and devastating than someone stealing your phone. Smartphones have become an extension of us. Everything is on there. So, when one man tried to steal one from a woman in Argentina, he wasn’t ready for the beatdown of his life.

One thief learned a lesson he won’t soon forget.

A viral video is showing on thief’s hard-learned lesson. A man in Argentina tried to steal a smartphone from an unsuspecting woman. What he wasn’t prepared for was that the woman is an MMA fighter. It was long after he took the phone that he learned that the woman, identified as Brisa, was not someone to be messed with.

Like most people in the world, the 4-foot-11 woman was tired of being on reduced wages because of Covid. She spent a long time saving up money to buy a new smartphone and was furious when the man tried to run away with it.

Brisa was ready to take the man on the moment he snatched her phone.

According to reports, Brisa and her friend immediately gave chase to the man who stole the phone. They yelled for people to help them apprehend the thief and he was finally stopped by a group of workers.

When he was stopped, Brisa finally got her phone back, but that wasn’t it for the thief. Brisa then delivered a series of blows to teach the man a thing or two about stealing from her.

“I refused to accept this guy coming along and making more than half my wages in three seconds,” Brisa told Nostros a La Mañana. “Hopefully this guy never steals again. I was lucky because I know how to defend myself as I practice MMA, but I don’t want it to happen to anyone else.”

People on social media are celebrating her moment of vigilante justice.

This is not the first time a man has tried to steal from a woman in Latin America and suffered severe punishment. Last year, a man tried to steal a phone from a woman in Brazil who turned out to be an MMA fighter. The man was also taught a valuable lesson.

While Some People Are Excited About Ronda Rousey’s First WWE Victory, Others Are Not Impressed

After her Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) career came to an end, fans were uncertain about Ronda Rousey’s path moving forward – until recently.

The former Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter made her WrestleMania debut this weekend alongside professional wrestler Kurt Angle. WrestleMania is an annual event produced by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), which consists of several matches for competing titles. This year was WWE’s 34th annual WrestleMania event and although it was Rousey’s very first time competing in the WWE ring, she impressed the audience with her savage win against wrestlers Stephanie McMahon and Triple H.

As soon as Rousey got tagged into the ring by her partner Angle, the TV show commentators exclaimed, “Here comes Rousey! Call the cops!”

Rousey did not give McMahon a single break in the ring.

What made WWE fans even more excited about this match, was the moment Rousey cornered and socked Triple H as if he was a punching bag.

No. Mercy.

She also had Triple H over her shoulders at one point in the match.

And Triple H is not small at all.

Overall, the WWE audience voted Rousey’s tag team match to be the most enjoyable out of all the matches from this year’s WrestleMania.

However, other people on the internet showed that they weren’t happy nor impressed about Rousey’s transition from UFC to WWE.

In Rousey’s defense, people explained that although WWE consists of choreographed matches, they’re still not easy and actually take a lot of training.

In a post interview Rousey’s partner and mentor Angle expressed how proud and optimistic he felt about Rousey’s future with sports entertainment. “That’s her first match and look how she blew the roof off the joint. Ronda has a big future here. This is what she was meant to do,” Angle said.

Similarly, Rousey expressed her gratitude for this opportunity in an interview with ESPN. “I thought I would never say this, but I’m so happy I lost those fights [to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes] because it led me here. This is so worth it,” Rousey said.

Rousey’s future with WWE is not set in stone, but fans can’t wait to see her grow as a professional wrestler if she continues on this path.
