These Fans Couldn’t Believe Who Their Pop-Star Lyft Driver Was

OMG! How do we get a ride from Demi Lovato?!

While in Denver, Colo., for a concert, Demi Lovato teamed up with Lyft to surprise some of her fans with a car ride courtesy of the Texas-born singer. Not only is this a super adorable video, Lovato, who tells her riders she is Samantha, also shows off her acting chops by acting like just your normal, boring Lyft driver with a dream. During one ride, she shares her wish of becoming a singer and just how totally committed she is to making that dream come true.

“I’ve actually been traveling the country with my ex-boyfriend’s brother ’cause he sings, too,” Lovato told one rider. “We really want to get our names out there at open mic nights and, like, whatever we can do.”

And, of course, Lovato had just a little shade for Selena Gomez — according to Gomez fans, that is.

It seems at the end that she might be holding back a laugh. At least that is what Gomez fans seem to think.

Seriously, the Selenators were not having it.

Though some diehard Lovatics totally played along.

This one fan’s reaction would literally be all of us.

She even had to take her sunglasses off to make sure she was really with Lovato. #Adorable

Time spent at home in isolation during the current coronavirus pandemic has led a lot of us to connect with friends old and new on apps like Facetime and Zoom. This has been true for celebrities as well, who have been using video calls to have virtual reunions with old cast members. A few weeks ago it was the cast of High School Musical and Victorias. Last week it was the beloved Spy Kids. Now it’s the cast of Sonny With A Chance.

The Sonny With A Chance reunion saw the shows former stars including Demi Lovato, Tiffany Thornton, and Allisyn Ashley Arm reunited.

Former cast members Matthew Scott Montgomery, Audrey Whitby, Sterling Knight, Doug Brochu, Shayne Topp, and Damien Haas also joined in on the fun and to reminisce about their old days on set. It was during this time that Lovato, thanked her former Disney Channel co-stars for their support and love while she was on the show.

At one point, Lovato thanks Thornton, who played the part of Sonny’s rival Tawni Hart on the show, for being her “biggest inspiration” after she left the cast.

“When I went away to treatment for the first time, you were my biggest inspiration coming out of it because you dealt with all of those pressures of being a woman on TV,” Demi explained, pointing to their days worrying about how they looked during fittings for the show. “It’s a shame that we wasted any energy on what we wore on set.”

Lovato also admitted during the reunion that she kept her dressing room at extremely warm temperatures because she was “underweight and freezing.”

The implications of Lovato’s words is that she was likely feeling cold and underweight because she was battling an eating disorder. Speaking about the ups and downs she experienced on the show, Lovato admitted that she “wasn’t sleeping and I was so miserable and angry too because I felt like I was being overworked.”

The Cast Of “High School Musical,” Demi Lovato, Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, And More Got Back Together For A Disney Family Singalong

ABC

We thought their Disney days were long behind them, but on Thursday night, Christina Aguilera, Demi Lovato, Beyoncé, and others gathered around their cameras to sing to families across the country for “The Disney Family Singalong.”

On Thursday night, Disney fans got the ultimate star treatment as part of ABC’s star-studded Disney Family Singalong.

The event, which was hosted by Ryan Seacrest, saw performers in their most minimal and scrappy landscapes yet as they used minimal equipment and “a whole lot of harmony” to get fans watching to “join in on the top of their lungs … even your dad.” To make things seamless, the lyrics which featured Disney’s most popular songs were displayed at the bottom of the screen.

For her part, Ariana Grande refused to say she was in love.

Belting the lyrics to the beloved Hercules tune “I Won’t Say I’m In Love” Ariana dressed the part of Meg in a purple outfit and ponytail and even took on the part of the five muses.

Perhaps the most emotional part of the night, however, was when Lovato sang “A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes.”

Singing alongside Michael Bublé for the classic “Cinderella” film, Lovato dedicated her performance to first responders. Throughout the performance were messages thanking the first responders, medical staff and grocery store workers tending to the public during the time of this pandemic.

Topping off the night was emotional performances by Christina Aguilera and Beyoncé.

Singing “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” from The Lion King, Aguilera’s performance was a reminder of how instrumental supporting each other is at this time. While Beyoncé joined in on the theme of Unity by singing a soulful rendition of “When You Wish Upon a Star.” At the end she reassured fans saying “we’ll get through this.”
