These Fans Couldn’t Believe Who Their Pop-Star Lyft Driver Was

OMG! How do we get a ride from Demi Lovato?!

While in Denver, Colo., for a concert, Demi Lovato teamed up with Lyft to surprise some of her fans with a car ride courtesy of the Texas-born singer. Not only is this a super adorable video, Lovato, who tells her riders she is Samantha, also shows off her acting chops by acting like just your normal, boring Lyft driver with a dream. During one ride, she shares her wish of becoming a singer and just how totally committed she is to making that dream come true.

“I’ve actually been traveling the country with my ex-boyfriend’s brother ’cause he sings, too,” Lovato told one rider. “We really want to get our names out there at open mic nights and, like, whatever we can do.”

And, of course, Lovato had just a little shade for Selena Gomez — according to Gomez fans, that is.

It seems at the end that she might be holding back a laugh. At least that is what Gomez fans seem to think.

Seriously, the Selenators were not having it.

Though some diehard Lovatics totally played along.

This one fan’s reaction would literally be all of us.

She even had to take her sunglasses off to make sure she was really with Lovato. #Adorable

The Queen Of Rap Shows Love For The Queen Of Pop And We Are All Freaking Out

If you follow the online chatter, it’s no surprise that Cardi B is a megafan when it comes to Britney Spears. So it should be even less of a surprise that Cardi B has come to the defense of Britney during her most recent personal struggles. The Queen of Pop was recently in a care facility for her mental health and it set off a firestorm of comparisons to the 2007 Britney Spears we all remember. Here’s how Cardi B reacted when asked about the recent news about one of America’s greatest icons.

In a recent ET interview, Cardi B came out swinging for Britney and, well, check it out.

Cardi B touched on her admiration for the pop star and even said she loves the idea of a possible Cardi B x Britney Spears collaboration in the future. [gasps in gaytino]

However, things got serious when the topic of Spears’s recent personal struggles came up – including a restraining order against her ex-manager and a stay at a mental health facility.

“I love you and I totally understand,” Cardi B said in a heartfelt message to Spears. “Fame will really drive you insane. Not only will fame drive you insane, but it’s like, once you have money, and everybody just wants to take it from you, or sometimes you just have, like, your own personal problems.”

Both Cardi B and Britney fans were living for this show of genuine support.

It is one of the most succinct ways to explain why celebrities some times snap. The pressures of being famous is a lot for some people to handle. Cardi B understands and even sees hoe it can cause someone to snap and lose all control of themselves.

People were losing it over the Queen of Rap giving the Queen of Pop some much-needed love.

How often do we get to see celebs having one another’s back? Especially with something so sensitive. People are so grateful that a fellow celeb, someone who has experienced the pressures of fame, is speaking up on these issues.

Cardi B then went on to lament the lack of privacy for celebrities and said she sympathizes with Spears. Cardi B also understands that the length of time Spears has been in the public eye is even more of an obstacle.

“When you’re a celebrity, everyone wants to sue you, everyone wants a piece of the money that you work for,” Cardi B continued. “It’s very frustrating.”

The singer also had a fangirl moment when she saw Spears working out to her hit song “I Like It.”

“It’s so dope because I’m a very big Britney Spears fan,” Cardi told ET, before launching into a little bit of Britney’s 2007 hit, “Piece of Me.”

Meanwhile, the Mississippi native checked out of the California facility after she completed her 30-day treatment on April 25.

Spears herself has also tried setting the record straight on some of the gossip that was going on around her. In a recent Instagram post, she says “I just wanted to say hi because things that are being sad have just gotten out of control!!! Wow!!! There’s rumors, death threats to my family and my team and just so many things crazy things being said. I am trying to take a moment for myself, but everything that’s happening is just making it harder for me. Don’t believe everything you read and hear.”

This all adds more drama to the #FreeBritney movement.

Even Spears asked the judge for certain adjustments to her conservatorship but didn’t get them. This must make the support from a fellow star that much more special.

We’re rooting for you Britney and truly hope that Cardi B x Britney collab happens soon.

Here’s How The Internet Reacted When Demi Lovato Tweeted About The 21 Savage Controversy

Here’s How The Internet Reacted When Demi Lovato Tweeted About The 21 Savage Controversy

ddlovato / Instagram

We all know Demi Lovato is just six months sober from a major overdose in July 2018. She’s spent 90 days in rehab, out of the public eye, and has been slowing returning to social media. First, it started out with Instagram likes and gradually progressed to the singer calling out body-shaming gaming app advertisements on the platform.

Now, the international icon has deleted her Twitter platform after users assumed the worst in her and started attacking her mental health struggles. Lovato took to her Instagram stories to explain exactly what went down.

It all started when rapper 21 Savage was arrested by ICE for deportation.

The whole internet was shook to learn that 21 Savage was even British to begin with. The rapper entered the US legally in 2005 but has allegedly failed to renew his visa to legally stay in the country.

“So far 21 savage memes have been my favorite part of the Super Bowl.”

Lovato tweeted and then quickly deleted the tweet after people starting attacking her past drug use. Before deleting her account, she parted with these words, “If you’re gonna come at me for making a joke, try coming at me for something original and not involving drugs.”

Lovato was quick to get the story straight, however.

Get it? Because who knew that 21 Savage was British and do they even have pens over there yet? Let the record show that the whole internet was already laughing at this.

And quick to call out the truly barbaric attacks she was receiving.

“Go shoot some more heroine Demi”? Really? It is never okay to bully someone for mental health problems.

Lovato is known for being vulnerable and honest about her battles with addiction.

Her fanbase is so big and devoted because of that vulnerability. Lovato has always taken us all along for the ride.

That vulnerability made her a quick target.

It’s hard enough to overcome an addiction in private. We can’t imagine how difficult it must be as a public figure.

People shouldn’t be directing their anger with ICE at Demi Lovato.

Understandably, the immigrant community and its allies have well-deserved anger and resentment towards the free range that ICE as a federal agency receives. They’re the ones separating children from their families without any intent or means to reunite them.

Because, really, there’s no excuse for this kind of dangerous behavior.

And yet, all that ugly that ICE brings to the table doesn’t permit ugly to be dished out at other vulnerable populations. Haven’t we been educated enough to arrive at the scientific consensus that addiction and alcoholism is a disease? Nobody is cracking lupus jokes at Selena Gomez.

Could Lovato have provided some compassionate context?

Completely out of the context of her personality, you could question what she was referring to. But we do know the context, and Lovato isn’t AOC. She’s perusing the Twitterverse like everyone else.

Even Wale came out to throw shade at Lovato.

At first, he just replied to her saying, “Why is somebody freedom funny…I don’t get the joke.” Lovato’s now deleted response was, “Wale just salty I never replied to his desperate tweets years ago.”

Wale responded, “Still ain’t gon disrespect you…still praying for you Demi. Glad u seen my old tweets. Hopefully you seen the ones providing comfort and prayer when you were down. I don’t kick people when they down. Go queen.”

Lovato spells it out crystal clear:

Wale kept going, but, understandably, Lovato wants to keep the conversation more private. Being a celebrity sounds terrible.

Some celebrities have come out to support Demi.

In an Instagram live stream, Tory Lanez pulled for Demi. “I’m not feeling this whole coming for Demi Lovato thing B, I’m not feeling it. I’m not feeling it. Some n***as really don’t watch the Super Bowl my n***a? And I’m not gonna lie that shit is wild entertaining n***a. I’m not for this whole coming for Demi Lovato thing.”

And now, there are even memes about the meme scandal. #TheInternet

CREDIT: @8Casey_ / Twitter

It’s crazy how that went from 0 to 100 real quick. Demi laughed alongside The Internet at a truly non-offensive meme and now she’s canceled Twitter.

Some of the memes are painfully accurate of how it went down.

CREDIT: @TLN_John97 / Twitter

I’m cringing. The internet calls out Demi for laughing at one element of an otherwise traumatic event, and the internet responds by wielding her own trauma as the butt of a joke. Cool.

Even if your racist tio tweeted that meme, you’d probably let it slide.

You have to pick your battles, right? And making fun of British quills ain’t mierda compared to everything else out there. Not even relatively speaking, is the meme offensive.

Our societal double standards around drug addiction need to change.

CREDIT: @PiecesDubz / Twitter

I’d also like to point out how sexism allows people to subconsciously respect one man’s addiction and use a woman’s addiction as a ‘flaw.’ We can do better.

Meanwhile, the internet has largely left this one alone.

Tomi Lahren is still on Twitter?! Excuse me?! Where the trolls at?

Except for Cardi B. She’s revving up for a dog walk.

CREDIT: @iamcardib / Instagram

If you missed the epic interchange between Cardi B and conservative pundit Tomi Lahren, let’s just say that Lahren tried it with Cardi B but Cardi B shut her down hard.

Now we’ve lost our Twitter privileges with Demi.

CREDIT: @ddlovato / Instagram

We don’t know how long she’ll be breaking from Twitter, but we hope it’s not long. Since she’s been back on social media, she’s rallied her fan base to petition Instagram to remove advertisements for a hugely problematic body shaming game.

It’s agreed that Lovato, nor anyone else, deserves to be bullied.

The internet is a place where bullying can run rampant. It those times, if you are exepriencing or witnessing bullying that affects you, it is important to know that you can walk away. Silence the notifications, put the phone down, and take time for yourself.
