Demi Lovato Had A Very Special Anniversary

For Demi Lovato, the last four years have been a combination of struggle and success. This week she gets to celebrate four years of sobriety. You go girl!

At 19, Demi entered rehab.

She checked in for a series of physical and emotional problems, including an eating disorder and cutting problems. But with the help and support of her family in the last four years, she’s remained stronger than ever.

The road to sobriety was long, but sharing with her fans helped her along the way.

“Honestly, I am thankful for my life path, including the highs and the lows, because it has caused my true self to shine through. Going to treatment was a gift and I believe it saved my life. I learned how to be strong and healthy even through struggles. It also helped me open up about my issues and share them with others. Knowing that my family, friends and fans accept me for who I am is the greatest feeling ever!” Demi wrote in her open letter in Seventeen magazine.

This week, in a series of tweets, the singer anticipated her anniversary:

Lovato released her new album, aptly titled “Confidence” late last year, has slayed it over and over in performances and is currently on tour with Nick Jonas. Not bad…

By her side through it all? The man she loves…

“He’s loved me the way I never thought I deserved to be loved and with this day marking my 3rd year sober…”  she captioned the IG snap last year.

Everyone On Instagram Is Praising Demi For Her Most Popular Instagram Post Yet

People are always going to have something to say, especially when it comes to celebrities and what they choose to post on social media or how they choose to live their lives. But what’s worse is when internet trolls decide to project their own insecurities onto female celebrities, in particular, in destructive ways.

People who would otherwise never make nasty comments about a women’s body or appearance in person and to their face, use the comments section on social media platforms to hide behind the keyboard and spread negativity. Singer, songwriter, and actor Demi Lovato has always had a complicated relationship with the public when it comes to unsolicited advice about her life choices and her body.

But it looks like she’s finally learning to be comfortable in her skin no matter what others say.

Last night, Lovato shared a gorgeous unedited photo of herself in a two-piece leopard print bathing suit.

However, it has people talking for other reasons. In the photo, Lovato can be seen looking over her shoulder walking out of a pool, and the cellulite on her legs visible. “This is my biggest fear,” Lovato said in her caption. “A photo of me in a bikini unedited. And guess what, it’s CELULLIT!!!”

Take notes, everybody. It’s no longer called “cellulite” — Lovato is helping us women reclaim that word and call it CELULLIT.

But Lovato’s message went deeper. She went on to write that she was so tired of being “ashamed” of her body and that she was done with editing photos of her body as well. She went on to state that she’s working on no longer caring about someone else’s idea of what beautiful means other than her own.

“I want this new chapter in my life to be about being authentic to who I am rather than trying to meet someone else’s standards,” Lovato wrote in her Instagram caption.

“So here’s me, unashamed, unafraid and proud to town a body that has fought through so much and will continue to amaze me when I hopefully give birth one day.” While she’s struggled with mental health issues, eating disorders, and addiction, Lovato has seemingly always been open with her fans about her journey through it all.

In July of 2018, the 27-year-old singer was hospitalized after an apparent overdose and went on a social media hiatus until she returned to Twitter to give fans a health update. “All my fans need to know is I’m working hard on myself, I’m happy and clean and I’m SO grateful for their support,” she wrote on Twitter on December 2018

Lovato’s latest act of empowerment also comes two months after she clapped back at a troll who told her to go on a “diet” after paparazzi photos of her surfaced.

According to Pop Crush,  back in July, an Instagram user posted a paparazzi shot of Lovato getting into a car after a workout and captioned it, “hey demi dm me so we can discuss a diet plan for you.”

Lovato wasn’t having it and replied to the unnecessary and rude comments that were made toward her. “I actually am choosing not to diet and fall back into unhealthy behaviors at the risk of losing my sanity or mental health but thank you for the offer! Super sweet,” she replied according to Pop Crush.

This incident, however, caused Lovato to take another break from social media.

But now she’s back and it looks like she’s taking a more positive approach and not paying any mind to the trolls — as it should be. Lovato went on to write in her caption that she feels great about being back in television and film while “not stressing myself with a strenuous workout schedule before 14 hour days, or depriving myself from a real birthday cake rather than opting for watermelon & whip cream with candles because I was terrified of REAL cake and was miserable on some crazy diet shit.”

We’re so glad she’s feeling better about not just her career, but her self and her body. If there’s anyone who deserves to feel their very best, it’s Lovato. At such a young age, she’s gone through so many life-altering experiences that we’re rooting for to finally find peace and feel the most comfortable in her own skin.

It’s also great to see the amount of support she received from fans and other celebrities sharing nothing but positive things on her photo.

Lovato ended her caption by saying that she hopes to inspire someone to appreciate their body today too. There’s no doubt that’s inspired us all.

Everyone Thought Demi Lovato Was Shading Taylor Swift During Her Performance At The VMAs, But She Was Living Her Best Life

At Monday’s MTV Video Music Awards on August 6, singer and actor Demi Lovato was nowhere to be seen on the red carpet. The singer was up for Best Dance Video for her work with Clean Bandit in “Solo” but lost to The Chainsmokers featuring Bebe Rexha for “Call You Mine.” According to reports, Demi’s absence sparked rumors that she missed the MTV VMA’s because of a feud with Taylor Swift.

Of course, that rumor was far from the truth which turns out is actually way better.

In fact, Lovato wasn’t in attendance because she was busy filming another project.

As she revealed yesterday via Instagram yesterday, she’ll be joining the upcoming third and final season of “Will & Grace.” So while people were making up rumors about her absence from the VMA’s saying it was because of drama with Taylor Swift, Lovato was busy filming her three-episode guest arc.

But first thing’s first, can we stop pinning women against each other? It’s such a tired and poor excuse. Plus, do people ever stop to think about how the rumors they start online or the comments they make will affect someone’s mental health? Even if the people we’re talking about here are celebrities. At the end of the day, they’re people, too.

Further, the former Disney star has always been open with her fans and the public about her struggles with sobriety, self-love, and mental health.

So why would people continue to speak this way of her just to stir up some controversy?

According to HelloGiggles, the rumors began when Lovato posted an Instagram Story about skipping the MTV VMA’s ceremony right after Taylor Swift had won the night’s Video of the Year Award. She took to Instagram to write, “I skipped the VMA’s for a REASON. Well, that and I just hate awards shows.”

Whatever her reason may have been, it’s her business and part of her private life, so fans and the public alike shouldn’t be quick to make assumptions about it. Plus, we’re sure she has her reasons for hating awards shows too. We can’t even imagine the scrutiny and pressure she must go through every time.

After that post, Swift fans quickly were led to believe that she was being shady toward Taylor.

But that wasn’t the case and while Lovato may not have explicitly addressed what Swift fans were theorizing, she still wrote in an Instagram Story according to HelloGiggles, “Okay I can’t tell you guys what I’m doing (you’ll find out super soon tho) but it’s making me SO HAPPY. I’m having SO MUCH FUN and I can’t stop laughing. Now go come up with crazy-ass theories as to what it might be!!!”

While Taylor and Demi’s relationship has been rocky in the past, the former Disney star wasn’t being shady and ended up actually addressing Swift’s fans.

That was when she announced she was “literally living my dream” because she would be a guest star on “Will & Grace.” Enough of the drama, we can’t wait to see Demi Lovato get back to her acting roots on the third and final season of “Will & Grace.”  According to a spokesperson for NBC, Lovato will guest star as a character named Jenny, “a guarded girl who comes into the life of Will (played by Eric McCormack), in three episodes of the sitcom in 2020.”

Since Lovato’s announcement, a couple of her soon-to-be costars have shared their excitement over her joining the team.

According to NBC News, Debra Messing, who plays Grace, commented on Lovato’s post and said, “DEMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!! You are so sweet. I am so happy you came to play with us! You are now officially part of the family.” McCormack and Sean Hayes, who plays Hack, also shared their own photos with Lovato on set, expressing their excitement over the news.

Lovato will appear in three episodes sometime in 2020, during the third season of the show. NBC announced that the upcoming season of the “Will & Grace” revival will be the last and consist of 18 episodes. The specific premiere date will be announced later.

Despite the rumors that began to rise due to Lovato’s absence from the MTV VMA’s that she was throwing shade at Taylor Swift, the singer isn’t paying attention to the negativity and instead of focusing on the positive aspects of her career. Her return to acting should be a joyous and exciting time to get back into how she started her career in the industry.

We’re excited to see what Demi Lovato’s character in “Will & Grace” will get into for its final season.
