Anti-immigrant Donald Trump Likes Hiring Immigrants for his Florida Resort

Donald Trump launched his campaign with promises to bring jobs back to America from the likes of China and Mexico.

He says he would be the “greatest jobs-producing president that God ever created.”

BUT, according to a damning New York Times article, those jobs are likely for foreigners…

They reported Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lagos resort, a private and exclusive club in Palm Beach, Fla., has repeatedly turned away Americans looking for jobs in favor of foreign workers.

Yup, a lot of the people hired at the resort have needed visas.

When questioned, Trump told the New York Times that his resort had to go with foreign workers because nobody wanted those jobs.

Guess this is just another Trump lie…

“The Squad” is one of the most recognizable groups in Congress. The four women, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts, are joining forces to keep the squad in office together.

AOC, and the rest of “The Squad,” are calling on their constituents and the general public for help this election cycle.

The four women, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, Rashida Tlaib, and Ilhan Omar, are facing reelection and they are joining together. The congresswomen are standing together to keep fighting for their progressive movement, something more and more Americans are starting to support.

Many progressive candidates have been winning in the recent primary elections.

The surge of progressive victories has encouraged the four congresswomen to be more vocal with voters about the needs for more progressive candidates.

AOC is a formidable fundraiser. The freshman congresswoman raised $10.6 million during her primary cycle. Omar is the other heavy-hitter in the fundraising world for progressive candidates. This fund will help fund the campaigns of the four representatives as well as contributing to each one’s PACs. AOC’s PAC, Courage to Change, has already endorsed a list of candidates that they want to see win in 2020.

The powerful group of congresswomen created the fund to fight back against Wall Street money.

A big part of the progressive movement is holding people accountable and restricting money in politics. For these politicians, there is a strong sentiment to reject high-dollar donors and embrace the small-dollar donations from people.

“Make no mistake, last week’s victories put an even larger target on our backs,” Ocasio-Cortez said in a statement in a press release, according to CNN. “Wall Street and Trump donors poured over $3 million into an attempt to defeat me and now they’re preparing to do even more to stop this progressive momentum in its tracks. The Squad Victory Fund will help us fight back.”

It seems “The Squad” are not going to slow down in their mission to uplift each other.

All members of the squad are facing reelection. Reps. Tlaib and Omar are facing primary battles in the coming months. Then all four will then face an opponent in the general elections in November.

The numbers are startling. The number of COVID-19 infections in the U.S. is skyrocketing and breaking records for the number of infections almost daily. One of the hardest-hit states in Florida and the MLS is determined to bring their season back using Florida as their meeting ground.

MLS athletes and staff members are testing positive for COVID-19 after arriving in Florida.

Major League Soccer is one of the first sports to attempt to restart its season. Fans were excited about the decision to restart the sport and MLS officials set their sights on the Walt Disney World Resort. Teams were flown down to Orlando to create a bubble to restart the sport as safely as possible.

Florida is experiencing one of the most severe spikes in cases in the country and the MLS is not immune to the spread.

Florida recently reported more than 10,000 cases July 1, a record for the state, and within 1,000 infections from the nation’s record set in New York. Orange County, which is home to Orlando and Walt Disney World Resort, is facing one of the most devastating outbreaks in the state.

There is a lot of chatter about whether or not is possible for this bubble idea to work.

“So far, most guys have been sticking to their rooms, playing video games, FIFA and 2K. We’ve had the opportunity share meals together, which was nice because I haven’t eaten in a group in a long time,” San Jose defender Tommy Thompson told Tampa Bay Times. “It felt great to be back on the field. When we all got on that bus together and started to train with contact, it felt really good.”

Fans are questioning if this idea is going to work.

Some players have told the press that they do feel safe in the bubble as the teams practice and prepare for the MLS is Back Tournament.

“Everyone is wearing masks, some guys are wearing gloves, and I feel safe 100 percent,” Dallas midfielder Tanner Tessmann told Tampa Bay Times. “They separated us on the buses and on the plane. We are staying one to a room in the hotel. So, I feel really safe. They have good procedures in place, so everything should go smoothly.”

The MLS is Back Tournament is set to begin July 8, considering everything goes according to plan. The rest of the teams are expected to arrive this week with the first game between Inter Miami and Orlando City.
