Selena Gomez Finally Let Us In On Everything She Was Silently Battling

American Music Awards / Facebook

Selena Gomez opened up and taught us it’s okay to be vulnerable. It’s okay to fall and pick yourself back up.

Yes, queen. YES.

Selena Gomez accepted her award with a message no one was expecting.

“I had everything and I was absolutely broken inside.”

She won the Favorite Female Artist – Pop/Rock award during last night’s American Music Awards, but her acceptance speech was less about the award and more about empowerment, love and self-care. Gomez touched on the public life that she has had to lead in the spotlight of being a celebrity saying, “I think it is safe to say that most of you know a lot about my life, whether I liked it or not.” She then talked about the importance that was placed on her keeping everything together for the fans.

“I had to stop because I had everything and I was absolutely broken inside,” Gomez said in her speech. “I kept it all together enough to where I would never let you down but I kept it too much together to where I let myself down.”

And people are giving Gomez’s acceptance speech a standing ovation.

She called on her fans to start showing the world love and strength, rather than just showing their “bodies on Instagram.”

Her emotional, and almost tearful, speech has moved people.

????

And her message is giving people strength to deal with their own issues.

Gomez recently made headlines when she canceled her Revival tour because of symptoms related to her lupus disease.

Selenators are expressing their admiration and respect for the Texas-born pop star.

“I have to say thank you so much to my fans because you guys are so damn loyal and I don’t know what I did to deserve you,” Gomez said. “But, if you are broken, you don’t have to stay broken.”

Her message is even reaching people who are neither fans nor haters.

“And, if that’s anything whether you respect me or not, that’s one thing you should know about me,” Gomez said. “I care about people.”

Nicely done, Selena.

Your Favorite NFL Team Just Got An Amazing Mexican Makeover

Mexico City’s Paseo de la Reforma is many things to many people. For tourists, it’s the perfect place to grab a bite and see the sites. For others, it’s the perfect street to hold protests and march through town. Today, however, Paseo de la Reforma is the perfect place for Mexican artists to display their interpretations of iconic NFLs helmets. And while it wasn’t an easy task (because fans can be very protective of their team’s look), many of the artists captured not only the spirit of a team, but created something entirely unique. Take a look…

The New York Giants

This helmet captures the New York skyline with what appears to be a snow-globe style background.

The Tennessee Titans

This one has a kind of Dr. Seuss meets “Yellow Submarine” kind of vibe.

The Washington Redskins

Nothing like a screaming skull and a full-on feather headdress to put intimidation into the minds of your opponents.

The Oakland Raiders

The helmet captures the spirit of pirates and plunder with a real nod to a drawing style that wouldn’t look out of place on Adult Swim.

The Denver Broncos

This is an obvious nod to the American West, where untamed broncos wandered freely among predators and prey.

The Dallas Cowboys

This cowboy is chillin’ like you do when your team has the best record in the NFL.

The Philadelphia Eagles

Say what you want about this one, that detail is eye candy.

The Indianapolis Colts

No sign of their iconic horseshoe, but it’s hard to deny how genius the use of tiles with the Colt’s color-scheme is.

The Chicago Whales Bears (?)

While it looks great, this one is definitely an example of someone taking artistic license with a team. The only connection I see here is that Chicago had a baseball team called “The Chicago Whales” in 1914.

The San Diego Chargers

For anyone who has seen the gorgeous street art in San Diego’s Barrio Logan, this helmet is perfect.
