21 Latino Songs That Will Mend Your Broken Heart

Breakups SUCK. You probably feel like you’ll never get over it — but you can always sing the pain away. A sweet Café Tacvba song here, a heart-wrenching Chente song there. These tunes can hit hard but soon, you’ll go from ? ? ?  to ? ? ?.

1. “Enamorado por Primera Vez” — Enrique Iglesias

Credit: EnriqueIglesiasVEVO / YouTube

The line you’ll sing over and over: “Porque tú eres solo para mí, una mirada y ya caí, enamorado por primera vez.”

You’ll remember your first love and realize it HAD to end. If you’re singing along to the video, you’ll also be distracted by Enrique’s mole.

2. “Acá Entre Nos” — Vicente Fernández

Credit: 10tupapi / YouTube

The line you’ll sing over and over: “Acá entre nos, siempre te voy a recordar/estoy odiando sin odiar porque respiro por la herida.”

If your heart wasn’t already broken into a million pieces, listening to this song will definitely shatter it. Just add some tequila to cleanse the wound.

3. “Todo se Derrumbó” — Emmanuel

Credit: Musica para recordar / YouTube

The line you’ll sing over and over: “Todo se derrumbó, dentro de mí, dentro de mí.”

This song captures the moment you experience heartbreak: everything’s falling apart and you feel like your heart is struggling to keep pumping. Más tequila, please.

The line you’ll sing over and over: “Me duele amarte así, hasta morir, lanzándome a la nada viéndote partir.”

Loving your ex was the best feeling in the world, but now it just HURTS — almost as bad as listening to Justin Bieber’s songs — almost.

5. “El Triste” — José José

Credit: Arturo Abascal / YouTube

The line you’ll sing over and over: “Que triste todos dicen que soy, que siempre estoy hablando de ti. No saben que pensando en tu amor.”

Sing this one enough, and you’ll be so depressed that all your friends will start calling you El Triste. Get it out of your system before they stop hanging out with you.

6. “Mientes Tan Bien” — Sin Bandera

The line you’ll sing over and over: “Mientes tan bien, que me sabe a verdad todo lo que me das.”

The line you’ll sing over and over: “Ahora quien, si no soy yo, me miro y lloro en el espejo y me siento estúpido, ilógico.”

A Young Latino Confronted His Mom For Liking His Ex’s Post And She Clearly Doesn’t Care

@MamonNalgon / Twitter

There is something about your parents staying friends with your ex that drives people crazy. Like, they also made connections with those people and they might really like them. However, should they take your side and just cut them off? That is the debate raging right now after on Twitter user confronted his mom about liking one of his ex’s Instagram photos.

Here is the moment Alan Zamora confronted his mother about liking his ex’s photo on social media.

He confronted him mother with a, “WTF?!” She responded simply with, “Terminó contigo, pero no conmigo.” She added: “She’s my friend.” Now, that is just some cold honesty about the importance of making sure your parents don’t get too attached to your novios and novias.

Her insistence on being friends with his ex led him to ask for new moms.

Credit: @MamonNalgon / Twitter

Who wants to give this man the mom he clearly wants. Obviously, he is looking for fierce loyalty and a mother who will never side with his ex over him. Also must be able to be filmed for Twitter at a moment’s notice.

She even invited his ex over to hang out and we are all dead.

Credit: @MamonNalgon / Twitter

Honestly, we all love when our ex’s parents want to stay in touch with us. They clearly love what we have to offer to the world. However, have you ever been on the other side of this? Have you ever seen your parents try to hangout with your exes while liking their social media pics?

Some people saw this and thanked the universe that their parents can’t do the same thing.

Credit: @Josewaterboy12 / Twitter

Pro tip: Make your parents social media illiterate. If they don’t know how to do social media, they can’t break your heart like this. Imagine your mom having an entire Instagram just to stay connected with the exes she liked from your life.

Some moms came through to explain what is happening from her perspective.

Credit: @lfgonzales / Twitter

It is kind of unfair for us to ask our parents to just cut someone out of their lives just because we couldn’t make it work. should they put their lives and hearts on pause just because our lives fell apart? It is a question that some moms legit want us to answer.

There were a few examples of parents taking it too far.

Credit: @cachacci / Twitter

Like, who does this? How does your mom take a trip with one of your exes then send you photos of the trip? This is the ultimate betrayal. There you are just living life wanting to take a trip with your mom then she takes the one who got away. Shady.

Or how about coming home and seeing your ex straight chilling with your folks?

Suddenly, your safe space is gone. You can’t come home and just relax because suddenly you have an ex hanging out on the couch. What a disaster. What a life they must live to do this to their pride and joy.

Yet, some people think that it is actually a sweet reminder of how much your life impacts your parents.

Credit: @GuevaraAshlee / Twitter

Try not to cry thinking about how much you mean to your parents. They love you so much that they love everyone you love. That is true unconditional love. What a wonderful thing to think about.

Oh, and Zamora wants you to know that his mom is one of the most beautiful women despite the original video.

What a great son. Even when he is betrayed by his mother, he still supports her unconditionally.

Cory Booker Admits To Writing Poetry For Novia Rosario Dawson And The Way He Gushes About Her Is Making Hearts Explode

In case you missed it, Democratic presidential candidate, Cory Booker, and Puerto Rican actress Rosario Dawson are in love. After months of rumors, Dawson confirmed this month that the two are dating. A TMZ reporter asked if she saw a wedding in their future, to which she gave the best response saying, “I have no idea. I am just so grateful to be with someone that I respect and love and admire so much.”

Cory Booker has had very cute things to say about his novia.

@rosariodawson / Instagram

Before Dawson confirmed their relationship, Booker confessed on the radio talk show “Breakfast Club” that he was dating someone “really special” and that she was his “boo.” Oh, and that she would make a “great First Lady” someday. 😍 Dios mio.

Just this weekend, Booker was backstage with MSNBC with Ari Melber when he confessed that he also writes love poems for Dawson.

MSNBC

It all started when MSNBC Chief Legal Correspondent Ari Melber was sharing rap lyrics from Senator Booker’s home state of New Jersey. At one point, Melber jokingly said, “When you get to be a famous rapper, you don’t even need to rhyme anymore.”

“I’m going to say something I’m about to regret,” Booker responds.

MSNBC

“I may or might not write things to my girlfriend,” Booker admitted in the behind-the-scenes interview. “I think sometimes I get a creative license from my hip hop love. I will write a poem that sort of rhymes in the way that hip hop folks can get away with.”

Booker also gave us some freestyling backstage.

Maybe running for president is where he will best serve his nation. As for the freestyling, not so much. However, it would be kind of epic to watch him and Bernie Sanders fight it out in a freestyle battle on the debate stage.

E! News first reported sightings of the two on January 8 at a “Dear Evan Hansen” event.

@enews / Twitter

Washington meets Hollywood (not for the first time): Rosario Dawson and Senator Cory Booker were sparking romance rumors after attending #DearEvanHansen together.

Given Dawson’s huge political platform and interests, it’s clear the two have a lot in common.

@rosariodawson / Instagram

“Everyone, including incarcerated women, can live with dignity so please stand with us to reform the criminal justice system. Join me and support #cut50 with a digni-tee! Get yours through omaze.com/dignity … “Did you know that 80% of incarcerated women in America are mothers? That 90% of women behind bars are survivors of sexual violence? Or that 2,000 women give birth behind bars every year? Help us start the conversation and create some change.” –The #cut50Team #WillILoseMyDignity#WillSomeoneCare”

The news led to some Booker fans to remind the world of her controversial politics during the 2016 election.

@MARIPRCAL / Twitter

Dawson co-founded Voto Latino, a non-profit organization that seeks to mobilize Latino voters and get them registered and represented in our democracy. She also campaigned on the road for Bernie Sanders and then voted for a third-party candidate during the primaries.

But Dawson isn’t changing herself or her ways to become the political girlfriend trope.

@Fantaskatic / Twitter

She’s giving us her annual naked selfies on her birthdays no matter who she’s dating, and we love her for it. Never change, Rosario.

The last few days have been entrenched with rumors that the two are engaged.

@schavarro_ / Twitter

The actress spoke at NBC Upfronts annual event, and it was hard not to notice that big diamond ring on her ring finger.

“I would only accept President Cory Booker if he came with first lady Rosario Dawson so,” @epd206 (hopefully) joked on Twitter.

Some people are very excited about possibly having a Puerto Rican as the First Lady.

fierce by mitú

Are we looking at a Puerto Rican First Lady as an option for 2020? We don’t know, and given how long it took them to share their relationship with the world, it might be awhile until rumors are confirmed or denied.

In the meantime, so many people are just genuinely happy for the couple.

@MARIAAL25005903 / Twitter

In case you weren’t sure if Booker is worthy, here’s what he told Ellen DeGeneres about Dawson:

“[Rosario] really has this nurturing spirit that has made me more courageous — not just in the love that I project and want to see in our country, but I think in our own personal relationships to love more fearlessly. I’m very, very blessed to be with somebody that makes me a better person.”
