“Que viva la música y que viva Alberto.”

In just over a year, Mexico has lost two of it’s greatest singers and songwriters: Joan Sebastian and Juan Gabriel. Before they both passed, they got to share the stage together at least once and this video captures the magic both mexicanos created.

In this clip, Joan Sebastian honors JuanGa with a touching song about his trajectory and his troubles. And in his beautiful, Joan Sebastian way, he thanks Alberto (Juan Gabriel’s birth name) for the contributions he’s made to the world of music. Every single lyric in that song speaks beautifully to what Juan Gabriel means to music lovers.

Barely holding back the tears, Juan Gabriel thanks everyone for all the love they’ve given him. If there’s one thing to be said about El Divo de Juarez, he was always appreciative for the love his fans gave him as it is seen above.

RIP Juan Gabriel.
