Cardi B Looked Like A Walking, Talking Maxi Pad On The Red Carpet Last Night And Offset Apparently Was Really Into It
Anyone who ever doubted whether or not Cardi B makes bloody moves ought to see what she wore to the Met Gala last night.
The “Please Me” rapper ruled the red carpet at last night’s big event in a massive quilted gown by Thom Browne. She looked stunning, sexy, wondrous, campy (to match the gala’s theme)… she looked like a walking, talking campaign for Kotex.
Cardi B stunned in a massive gown that featured a train and a whole lot of ox-blood-colored dye.
If you didn’t already know, this year’s Met Gala theme was “Camp: Notes on Fashion” which is in the simplest of terms a display of flamboyance and the push of boundaries. No doubt, Cardi B took hold of the reins of this concept and went flying.
Like, if that cape couldn’t take off…
We always knew pads had wings… but we didn’t know they were feminist/ fabulous.
According to Vogue, the rappers gown took 35 people and over 2,000 hours to make. It took 10 people to hold her train for her as she walked the carpet.
And we’re not the only ones who have this theory about Cardi’s theme.
Just about everyone on Twitter is saying she looks like a period dream.
And of course Cardi got some praise for her husband Offset.
The rapper praised his wife for setting fire to the Gala last night.
Or at least the one you wake up to on your period.
Yas girl be the queen who displays her POWER. Literally the bloodiest costume of all time.
Some fans had other theories…
In an interview the gown’s designer KIND of confirmed the period theory.
Brown told Vogue in an interview that he “designed this dress for Cardi specifically because she has the ultimate beauty in a woman’s body, and that is what the dress is about for me: taking advantage of that beauty.”
