7 Moments From 2019 MIAFW That Will Give You Major FOMO

For all of us that weren’t at the 2019 Lexus Miami Fashion Week, we experienced a serious case of FOMO…aka, the fear of missing out. And why wouldn’t we? Not only was Miami the place to be this weekend, but there were some incredible moments where Latinos shined. From the red carpet to the panels to the Lexus Ride and Drive, MIAFW was lit.

But don’t worry — we got you. We’ve highlighted the 7 moments from the 2019 MIAFW that were not to be missed.

1. 2019 MIAFW Summit “Sustainability & Technology” Panels

While MIAFW was all about the glitz and glam, it was also all about educating people on the fashion industry. There were some awesome panels which looked toward the future of fashion sustainability. This practice promotes mindful, responsible production and consumption, which is not just good for individuals and communities, but also for the environment. Responsible fashion is the best kind of fashion.

Panel: “Turning Fantasy Into Reality”

The panels covered all kinds of fascinating topics. Lauren Bowker spoke about combining science, design and alchemy by utilizing color changing technology.

Panel: “No More Fashion Victims”

London designer and activist Katharine Hamnett led the panel “No More Fashion Victims,” which brings awareness to ethical manufacturing.

Panel: “Not So Fast-Fashion”

The “Not So Fast-Fashion” panel brought together Jennifer Drury, Dan O’Connell, Danié Gomez, Valeria Hinojosa, and Paloma Teppa to discuss responsible and mindful fashion consumption and production.

2. Party

No event in Miami would be complete without a banger of a party. Fashion week is absolutely no exception.

Designers, models, and fashion lovers gathered to celebrate MIAFW and party like you can only do in a city as vibrant as Miami.

Sponsored by Lexus, guests enjoyed signature cocktails and treats. Talk about luxury! Who else is seriously feeling the FOMO?

No party is complete without a photo booth. Did a party even happen unless you can take a flawless pic in front of a ring light?

The party was the perfect way to celebrate all of the Latino talent and the amazing craftsmanship of the designers showcased.

3. Runways

The runway is where the magic happens.

The designs at MIAFW were stunning. They were full of elegance, but at the same time boasted edgy designs.

Actor Antonio Banderas is the honorary president of MIAFW, and we can’t think of anyone who would be a better fit for the title.

When you think “stylish celebs,” Antonio Banderas definitely comes to mind.

If Antonio Banderas doesn’t give you FOMO, what will?!

7. Sexy Cars

Let’s be real: one of the best parts of MIAFW were the sexy, amazing cars.
