Meet Reza Parastesh.
He’s a 25-year-old student from Iran who bears a striking resemblance to a certain soccer superstar from Argentina.
That’s right, Lionel Messi. Here’s what Parastesh looks like in a Barcelona jersey.

According to the BBC, Parastesh looks so much like Messi that he was detained by police after causing a scene in the town of Hamaden.
Apparently, the Messi doppelgänger had so many people surrounding him for pictures and autographs that police had to detain him and impound his car to control a large crowd that had formed.
Paratesh didn’t always know he was Messi’s virtual twin. According to the AFP, it was his father who noticed the resemblance.
A hardcore fútbol fanatic, Parastesh’s father had him pose for a few photos in a Messi jersey. They sent the photos to a sports site, and they quickly replied to do an interview with him, reported the AFP.
Soon, Parastesh was soaking up all his newfound fame.
Now dubbed the “Iranian Messi,” Parastesh says he looks forward to brightening the day of whoever runs into him.
“I’m really happy that seeing me makes them happy and this happiness gives me a lot of energy,” said Parastesh to the AFP.
