Offset Is Detained By Police After Run In With Trump Supporters And He Live-Streamed The Whole Thing

Week after week there is no shortage of Cardi B and Offset news. It seems like every other day we have a new story involving their on-again off-again relationship, their extravagant gifts to one another, or their outspoken political beliefs.

However, over the weekend Offset made headlines for a brief encounter with Beverly Hills police after he passed by a pro-Trump rally.

Offset decided to livestream his interaction with police and the result was a heated exchange that resulted in the arrest of one of Cardi B’s cousins and many wondering why the police stopped the Migos rapper to begin with?

Offset was detained by police after driving past a pro-Trump rally in Beverly Hills.

On Saturday evening, rapper Offset streamed a confrontation with police on Instagram Live while being pulled over, after a passerby reported that a person inside the Migos rapper’s car allegedly pointed a gun through the window at him as they drove past a pro-Trump rally in Beverly Hills.

According to police, they received a license plate and vehicle description that matched that of Offset and attempted to make a traffic stop. That’s when Offset began to livestream the encounter with police.

“Because you’ve got guns out, I’m not finna move my hands from my steering wheel,” Offset can be heard saying in video reported by TMZ, before officers open the door and pull him out of the vehicle. “You can’t just open my door,” he says. “That’s illegal. I’m going to sue to the shit out of y’all.”

Offset’s representatives have released the following statement in response to the incident.

“Artist and Philanthropist Offset was detained by the Beverly Hills Police Department following an attack by aggressive Trump supporters,” the statement reads. “He was released shortly thereafter. Offset thanks his fans for their support and wishes everyone peace and safety during these trying times. He encourages everyone to get out and vote because nothing changes if nothing changes.”

Although the police say a crime was committed, they add that the victim didn’t want to press charges.

“The victim of the crime did not desire to press charges for the pointing of the weapon,” police said in a statement. Police also reassured Offset was not arrested.

The Migos rapper live-streamed the entire encounter on Instagram Live.

As soon as the police made the traffic stop, Offset got his phone and began to livestream the encounter with police. Considering the way police so often handle encounters such as this with Black men, it was a wise decision on his part.

In the video, you can hear officers ask him to exit his car but he refuses becase the officers have their guns pointed at him.

“I’m not going to move my hands from the steering wheel,” he can be heard saying in the video.

In the video, you can also hear Offset argue with officers over what had just happened, as he claims people had “beat his car up with a flag.”

A passenger in Offset’s car was arrested and charged with firearms offenses.

Although police literally dragged Offset out of his own vehicle, officers have reiterated in statements that the rapper was not arrested or charged with any crime. However, a passenger in his car, 20-year-old Marcelo Almanzar (who shares a surname with Offset’s wife, fellow hip hop heavyweight Cardi B) was arrested and charged with carrying a loaded, concealed firearm in a public place, according to the report.

In a tweet, Philip Lewis of the Huffington Post said that person, Marcelo Almanzar, is Cardi B’s cousin. However, as of Sunday afternoon, Marcelo is still in a Beverly Hills jail on a $35,000 bond.

Cardi B showed up to the scene and allegedly had to be restrained after trying to intervene to help her husband.

As the story broke on Saturday, Cardi B rolled up to the scene in her new black Rolls Royce just as Offset was arguing with the cops. When he refused to turn off his car, police reached into his car and physically dragged him out of it.

“That’s my husband! Why are you pointing a gun at him?” the rapper yelled while restrained by a friend, according to The Daily Mail.

Cardi then gets out her phone and shouts, ‘Let me record this.’ As Offset is led away, she yells loudly: ‘No! This is crazy! My husband is not armed. My husband is not armed.”

Much of the commotion took place as a crowd gathered – including several people carrying pro-Trump signs which had to have added to the tense situation.

By Sunday, things appeared to be back to normal for the couple as the pair went shopping in Beverly Hills.

Despite the traumatic incident, both Cardi B and Offset were sharing stories to their Instagram on Sunday as the couple were out shopping in Beverly Hills.

The pair had popped into a Beverly Hills Hermès store, and in an Instagram post joked that they were ‘spoilt’ by the luxury goods on offer.

So what do you think? Did Offset make the right choice to livestream the encounter with police?

The Thanksgiving family drama ain’t over yet, folks.

In the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, medical officials appealed to Americans to stay home for the holidays to combat a potential increase in COVID cases that would undoubtedly arrive during gatherings. Over the weekend, the White House coronavirus task force coordinator, Dr. Deborah Birx, told Americans that they should assume they are infected with the coronavirus if they did opt to travel and attended large gatherings for Thanksgiving.

Over the weekend after news spread that rapper Cardi B hosted a large Thanksgiving celebration amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

After she shared a post to her social pages over the weekend, Cardi B is getting a bitter taste of Thanksgiving backlash.

Cardi B responded to backlash Sunday over her Thanksgiving celebrations where she appeared to host a large gathering amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The 28-year-old rapper tweeted, “12 kids and 25 adults over the holidays. It was lit !!”

It didn’t take long for the post to spark commentary from followers aware of public health officials’ pleas to urge Americans to limit their Thanksgiving celebrations. Ahead of the Thanksgiving celebrations officials asked people to keep dinners and gatherings to a limited number of people out of anticipation of coronavirus case increases.

As ever, Cardi was quick in her response and at first, seemed to apologize claiming that she had not meant to offend anyone with her holiday celebration.

“Sorry my bad wasn’t trying to make nobody feel bad.I just had my family in my home for the first time and it felt so good & uplifted me. I spent soo much money getting every1 tested but it felt worth it. I wasn’t trying to offend no1,” she tweeted Sunday afternoon.

Late last week Cardi posted photos of her Thanksgiving Day with her 2-year-old daughter Kulture.

She also replied to a fan who ridiculed her use of COVID testing to support a gathering.

“ME specially and everyone that works around me get tested literally 4 times a week. Im In the middle of work and every time we clock in we MUST GET TESTED !” she Cardi replied.

It didn’t take long for Cardi to continue her responses to critical fans

“People be trying tooo hard to be offended,” she tweeted to one post. “I wonder how they survive the real world.”

Like it or not, tested or not, the reality of the current pandemic situation is that people are still contracting the virus.

“We know people may have made mistakes over the Thanksgiving time period,” Birx warned in an interview with Face the Nation. “If you’re young and you gathered, you need to be tested about five to 10 days later. But you need to assume that you’re infected and not go near your grandparents and aunts and others without a mask.”

“We’re really asking families to even mask indoors if they chose to gather during Thanksgiving and others went across the country or even into the next state,” she added.

The Vatican Promises To Get To The Bottom Of The Pope’s Instagram ‘Like’ Of A Lingerie Model

This might not be one that they’ll be able to simply blame on the intern. It turns out that last week, the Pope’s official Instagram account ended up giving a ‘like’ to a scantily clad Brazilian lingerie model.

Instead of letting the story die off as these types of stories usually do, the Vatican has made a mountain out of a molehill and keeps pushing the ‘scandal’ further into the spotlight.

The Vatican now now started an investiagation into the matter, vowing to get to the bottom of the ‘papal like.’ They’re also allegedly working with Instagram to find out how such an incident could happen – because according to the Vatican it definitely wasn’t the work of anyone inside the Holy See.

The Vatican vows to investigate how the Pope’s Instagram account ended up ‘liking’ a lingerie models photos.

THe Vatican announced this week that they’re launching in actual investigation into the the curious case of Pope Francis’ official Instagram account giving a ‘like’ to a photo of a Brazilian model in a schoolgirl’s uniform.

A spokesperson for the Vatican, who denied that the ‘like’ came from within the Vatican, told NBC News on Friday that it was seeking answers from the popular social media app.

“We are studying what happened with the help of the competent office at Instagram,” said Matteo Bruni, director of the Vatican Press office.

Vatican officials admit that a team of communications specialists run the pope’s social media accounts, but the Vatican denies that the ‘like’ came from one of it’s own. Their theory is that the ‘like’ is the doings of an outside source.

It all started when it appear Pope Francis’ Instagram account like a photo of a lingerie model in a school girl’s uniform.

Pope Francis is one of the world’s most popular world-leaders across social media. He has more than 7.4 million followers on Instagram and 18.8 million on Twitter. However, he follows exactly zero accounts in return. But the Vatican insists he isn’t handling his own social media accounts.

Nevertheless, a photo posted by Brazilian model Natalia Garibotto to her Instagram on October 6, received a ‘holy like’ from Pope Francis’ Instagram. And it wasn’t just any photo. In the photo, the lingerie model is wearing a revealing school girl-inspired outfit and high white stockings with suspenders.

It was unclear when the pope’s official account gave the model his blessing, but the “like” was visible on Nov. 13 before being unliked the following day, the Catholic News Agency reported.

However, it’s worth noting that the pope rarely administers his own social media accounts. “The pope is not like Donald Trump, he’s not sitting around using his phone or computer to tweet all day long,” said Robert Mickens, the Rome-based editor of the English-language edition of the Catholic daily newspaper La Croix.

“He does, for example, approve the tweets – but not the likes – and on very rare occasions he has said he would like to tweet something because of a developing situation or emergency. So he would have nothing to do with this – it’s the communications department, and how this happens … who knows.”

Meanwhile, the model who received the papal like, joked “At least I’m going to heaven.”

Natalia Garibotto, the model in question, has 2.4 million followers on Instagram and took the papal endorsement with pride. She even joked on Twitter that “At least I’m going to heaven.”

According to Garibotto’s website, subscribers have “exclusive” access to “sexy content, follow back on socials… signed Polaroid’s” and the opportunity to speak to her directly.

Garibotto – who is also a streamer on the gaming website Twitch – told one Instagram follower she was “excited” about the “like” as she is religious. Meanwhile, her management company, COY Co., has also been playing up the controversy, wasting no time in seizing the opportunity to promote the model on social media.

“COY Co. has received the POPE’S OFFICIAL BLESSING,” the company said on Instagram last week.
