The Tropicalia Music And Taco Festival Is Back In California And The Lineup Is Better Than Ever

If you’re inclined to think that music festivals are too white — you’re not alone. In fact, it’s really hard to see performers of color headline big shows (because Beyoncé can’t do them all). Thankfully the Tropicália Music & Taco Festival in Long Beach, California is here to save us. The music festival will feature some of the hottest Latino musicians for two days of amazing music and food.

Morrissey and Cardi B will headline the Tropicália Music & Taco Festival at the Queen Mary Park and people are screaming.

They might be two completely different artists, but fans for the two headliners are energized and ready. After all, these two performers know how to get the crowd going.

But there are so many other Latinx musicians and groups rocking the Tropicália stage, like Chicano Batman.

The psychedelic band is returning after a successful set at the 2017 Tropicália festival. Plus, they are California boys so showing up for their community only makes sense.

Kali Uchis won’t be a stranger with her return to Tropicália.

The festival is happening November 3 and 4 at the Queen Mary Park. Let’s hope the California weather doesn’t stay too hot then.

Los Ángeles Azules is bring Long Beach their cumbias straight from Mexico.

They will definitely get the crowd dancing in the fall night along the water.

Our favorite sweet songstress Natalia Lafourcade will grace the festival’s stage.

Our parents will not be able to keep themselves from dancing during this band’s set.

And, of course, everyone’s favorite twins, Nina Sky, will keep everyone moving.

Other performers include Mac Demarco, Mazzy Star, Toro Y Moi, Cuco Devendra Banhart, BadBadNotGood, Broncho, Boy Pablo, and more.

This festival is giving some of Latin pops greatest names a chance to truly shine in their own festival.

When it comes to the collection of body art, no one in quarantine seems to be quite as productive as Cardi B. The “Press” rapper might be in quarantine like the rest of us but that hasn’t stopped her from getting multiple tattoos and some body bling. Back in June, the rapper revealed her painful effort to obtain two new daring dermal pieces.

Unfortunately, as cute as the lewk was, her body didn’t seem up for it.

The rapper recently shared a video on her Instagram Stories of her body rejecting her chest piercings.

In a graphic video shared to Cardi’s Instagram last week, at least one of the piercings can be seen being pushed out of her body and hanging from her skin. “This is how my piercing has been for the past four days,” she explained in the selfie video.

Back in June, Cardi shared her excitement over her dermal piercing process in a video posted to her Instagram page. The two new dermal piercings were placed in a vertical line down her chest. At the time she’d also opted to remove her top dermal piercing “I got to take this one off because this one is old,” she shared. “You all know I’ve been having this one for a long time, but whatever.”

It’s unknown why Cardi B’s piercing was rejected by her body.

According to Healthline, “Piercing rejection isn’t nearly as common as some other piercing complications, like infections, keloids, and dermatitis. When rejection does happen, it’s usually in a flat area of the body.” Even more, there is no specific reason for piercing rejections. They can range from genetics and skin tightness to jewlery shape and size. Weight changes and emotional stress can also be factors in the body’s rejection of piercings.

Here’s hoping Cardi B gets the dermal piercing she’d originally hoped for!

Cardi B Used A Racial Slur To Describe Her Daughter And Now She’s Getting Educated

iamcardib / Instagram

Cardi B has her flaws and blind spots and as such as faced quite a bit of backlash throughout her career for the times that she has misspoken or used stereotypes offhandedly.

Last year, we reported that the Dominican/ Trinidadian rapper had previously claimed in resurfaced 2020 live-stream on Instagram that in the past she “had drugged and robbed men” who had solicited her for sex. In another resurfaced clip, Cardi B claimed that boyfriends who cheated on her would experience her seducing them with the promise of a threesome only to reveal the morning after that their partner was a transwoman much to her boyfriends’ distress. At the time, it didn’t take long for fans and advocates to lambast her for her ignorant use of a transwoman to get revenge, while also potentially putting them in harm’s way.

It turns out the “Bodack Yellow,” rapper is still in need of some lessons.

The rapper landed herself in hot water over the weekend after using an Asian slur while describing her daughter’s eye shape.

Okay one more pic of this look and THATS IT !

A post shared by Cardi B (@iamcardib) on

It all began when the mother to 2-year-old daughter Kulture shared a photo of what she might look like as an adult. In the comments, a fan was quick to point out that in the image looked like a combination of the rapper’s husband Offset and her sister Hennessy.

In response that has now been deleted Cardi B wrote “I think cause Hennessy got c*****y eyes like offset and so [does] KK. Its the only think [sic] I could think off [sic].”

Fans and critics were quick to call the Grammy award winner out for the use of the racial slur. To which she responded it came from a place of ignorance “I didn’t know that c—-y eyes was a slur like wtfff I DONT KNOW F–KIN EVERYTHING !!” she wrote in a tweet that has now been deleted. “We don’t even use that as a (sic) insult and I didn’t use it as a (sic) insult.”

In response to the backlash, she received in 2019, for her comments about once drugging and robbing men while she was a stripper, claimed to not be “perfect.”

“I never claim to be perfect or come from a perfect world wit [sic] a perfect past I always speak my truth I always own my s–t,” Cardi explained to fans at the time. “Im apart [sic] of a hip hop culture where you can talk about where you come from talk about the wrong things you had to do to get where you are. There are rappers that glorify murder violence drugs an [sic] robbing. Crimes they feel they had to do to survive. I never glorified the things I brought up in that (Instagram) live I never even put those things in my music because I’m not proud of it and feel a responsibility not to glorify it.”
