Kids Really Do Say The Darndest Things: Watch This Group Of School Kids Interview J Balvin

There are few things more pure than a bunch of school kids meeting their idol – especially when that idol happens to be una leyenda like J Balvin. Someone who I too would totally fan girl over. But some kids know how to play it a lot cooler than I ever could.

In an interview with Noisey, J Balvin meets a group of Mexican school kids who pretty much give him the fifth degree, but in the best way possible.

J Balvin sat down for a one to like twenty when he was recently in Mexico – and the results are everything.

In the interview, the kids grill Balvin on everything from his love life to the inspiration behind his latest album, Colores. And honestly, these kids are better interviewers than me on a good day.

My favorite part comes at the start of the video when one kid wants to know why J Balvin writes music with curse words but makes Bad Bunny sing them instead. Unfortunately, it’s a question we don’t actually get an answer to.

Some of these kids offer up some really great questions.

Like, does J Balvin have a novia? Unfortunately, that too is a question we don’t get a clear answer to. However, J Balvin does tease us a bit saying that he’s “in negotiations.”

At times, J Balvin hits back with his own questions and the kids responses are just wayyyyy too cute.

Shortly after Balvin is asked if he has a girlfriend, he pops the question back to his audience – of like 8-year-olds – if any of them have significant others. Many of the girls answer saying no, that they’re too young. Meanwhile, a few boys say they’re incapable of having girlfriends because they’re saints and J Balvin has a good laugh.

J Balvin’s greatest hit is on the way. The Colombian reggaetonero’s girlfriend, Valentina Ferrer, revealed that she is pregnant with their baby. She talked about her pregnancy with Vogue México.

Valentina revealed the news in a beautiful photo spread with Vogue México.

Ferrer is on a digital cover of Vogue México proudly showing off her growing baby bump. J Balvin can be recognized standing directly behind her because of his tattooed hands that are holding her stomach. On Instagram, Balvin commented on the photo with a heart emoji.

The photos don’t just end with the cover. There are more stunning photos of Ferrer striking a pose and smiling in her pregnancy glory.

Ferrer revealed that the pregnancy was a shock to her at first. “I took the pregnancy test in the bathroom and I repeated it three more times because I couldn’t believe it,” Ferrer told Vogue México. “But what surprised me the most was when I felt the baby kick for the first time.”

Valentina and J Balvin first met in one of his music videos.

This will be J Balvin’s first child with Ferrer. The two first met on the set of his “Sigo Extrañándote” music video in 2017. The emotional visual was for Balvin’s hit single from his 2016 album Energía. In 2018, they debuted as a couple at New York Fashion Week.

J Balvin is having a busy 2021 so far. The dad-to-be has teased his next album with the singles “Ma’ G,” “Tu Veneno,” and “Otra Noche Sin Ti” featuring Khalid. A documentary about his life, The Boy From Medellín, will be released to streaming on Amazon Prime on May 6.
