Kali Uchis Drops New Bilingual Single And It’s Poppin’
Kali Uchis is dropping tunes left and right and we cannot keep up! One minute she’s in her native Colombia, the next minute her ? collaboration with Juanes gets released. Then she’s in Paris making music videos, and now we have “Tyrant” — Kali’s first solo single since 2016.
The dancehall-inspired track is catchy AF and we can’t stop grooving to it. The song also features British singer Jorja Smith.
“A post apocalyptic love song,” is how Kali referred to the song in a press release, the Fader reported. She added that it’s about “wanting to stay in the haze of puppy love forever and never face the power struggles, because that’s your only real escape from the cold realities of life.”
We feel that!
The song will be on Kali’s forthcoming album, which is scheduled for release later this year. Kali also said on The Beats 1, that her new album will include collaborations with psychedelic Aussie band Tame Impala and funk legend Bootsy Collins. Damn!
Okay, we’re going to go now and listen to “Tyrant” again like…
