This mazapan pillow is such a quick and easy gift that’s too cute to handle. ?

Inspired by the original Mazapan candy, which usually falls apart as soon as you open the wrapper- here’s a cute, little mazapan pillow that won’t fall apart when you touch it. Check out this quick tutorial video and follow the detailed instructions below for further guidance. ?

Here are the supplies you will need:

  • 2 sheets of beige felt
  • 2 sheets of red felt
  • 1 sheet of green felt
  • Print of letters “Unbreakable”
  • Pillow stuffing
  • Hot glue gun + glue sticks
  • Scissors
  • Marker (preferably a fabric marker)
  • Circular object for pillow base
  • Smaller circular object for rose
  • Optional: Mazapan candy for reference

Here are the instructions:

  1. Place larger circular object for the pillow base over the two sheets of beige felt and trace the circular object with a marker.
  2. Cut out the two circles and use your hot glue gun to glue them. **Make sure to leave a 1″ seam.
  3. Now you can turn pillow base inside out through the seam.
  4. Next, cut out the letters from the print and place them over 1 sheet of red felt. **Feel free to change the text from “unbreakable” to anything else you’d like!
  5. Trace the letters with marker and cut them out. ✂️
  6. Now you can flip the letters over right side up and glue them onto the pillow base where desired.
  7. Bring out your second sheet of red felt and trace a smaller circular shape over it.
  8. Cut out the circular shape and make sure to scallop the edges of the circle.
  9. Spiral cut the circle inwards.
  10. Roll the red felt in and it will start to resemble a rose. Make sure to glue the end of the rose to the bottom to secure it together. ?
  11. Bring out your green felt and fold over one of the ends and trace the fold with your marker.
  12. Draw 4 half circles on your green felt and cut them out.
  13. Next, cut ¼” with the remainder of green felt and then cut it in half. These two pieces of green felt will be your rose stems.
  14. Now you can glue the rest of the pieces onto the beige felt in order to resemble a rose. **Note: You can use a Mazapan candy as a reference.
  15. Next, you can fill pillow base with stuffing.
  16. Finally, close the seam and you’re done!!

**Note: the Mazapan pillow is not edible.?

This Mexican Toy Store Is Selling Make Your Own Forky Kits Based On The Toy Story Character And People Went Crazy

This Mexican Toy Store Is Selling Make Your Own Forky Kits Based On The Toy Story Character And People Went Crazy

Last month, Toy Story 4 hit theaters. The latest installment in Pixar’s flagship movie franchise features Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and the rest of the familiar Toy Story characters we’re used to seeing.

Yet Toy Story 4 introduced a new, unexpected toy to love: Forky. Far from the average anthropomorphic store-bought personalities, Forky is a handmade creation and, importantly, the product of a child’s ingenuity.

In fact, Forky is barely a toy at all: He’s a plastic spork adorned with a pipe cleaner, googly eyes, bits of clay, and a broken popsicle stick. All of his parts are literally taken from the trash by Woody and then put together by a kindergartener named Bonnie.

But what Forky is, and has become in the wake of Toy Story 4’s release, is the star of Toy Story 4.

He’s such a star that people around the world are trying to recreate him at home on their own.

Of course, fancy toys are cool and all, but many parents know that sometimes kids often gravitate toward simpler items.

Since Forky is basically just a plastic spork with pipe cleaner arms and googly eyes stuck on him, he’s actually been pretty easy to recreate. Even before “Toy Story 4” was officially in theaters, the animated utensil was winning over hearts and minds, so it’s not too surprising that plenty of homemade Forkys are popping up across social media.

People are legit connecting with this plastic food utensil on a whole other level.

Maybe this is getting too real…?

Toy stores are getting in on the action too.

Like this Mexican toy store chain that is selling a “Make your own Forky kit” that comes with everything you need a Ziploc plastic bag.

And this movie theatre in Sonora is hosting an event that sounds like an amazing idea.

Translation: Families! Don’t miss the Toy Story marathon tomorrow where you could make your own #Forky

Seriously, this is something I want to go to!

Even Disney itself has come out with a $20 “Make Your Own Forky” kit.

I mean really Disney, was this necessary?

And people don’t seem all that happy about it…

Although a lot of people are mad at Disney for trying to make even more money off an item they themselves depict as literal trash, we can’t say we’re surprised.

For those who wanna try and make their own Forky at home, this Twitter user has you covered.

Steps to make your own Forky:

  • Buy your own personal kit to assemble it.
  • Make it.
  • You’re welcome.

But some of the best tweets are from people who’ve already made their own versions.

I mean these look nearly identical to the original Forky…minus the all the blue. But those facial expressions…pure Forky.

Some people out there are getting extra creative with their Forky creations.

But this is one I know I’m totally gonna have a good night out with. Salud!
