Helado Negro’s ‘Come Be Me’ Brings Super Chill Summer Vibes

A new Helado Negro track is finally here!

This year, cable TV network Adult Swim partnered with 52 different acts to release one free song a week. It’s the first bit of new music from the Florida native since his 2016 breakthrough album, “Private Energy,” which featured the anthemic single “Young, Latin and Proud.”

We love everything about this electro-chill track! And, hopefully, this release is an indication that more new music is on its way.

Helado Negro also recently performed on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert, and there were no synths or drum machines to be found:

“Here we go!”

At San Diego Comic Con this past weekend, Marvel dropped an updated trailer for “Thor: Ragnarok.” Back when the first trailer for the film released, we were excited that at the inclusion of another Afro-Latina in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Thompson, whose father is of Panamanian descent and mother is of Mexican and European descent, will be playing Valkyrie, a historically white character in Marvel comics.

Gina Rodriguez supported her friend on social media, posting the photo of Thompson in character up on Twitter.

Earlier, Rodriguez had posted that Marvel needed to do a better job of including Latinos.

Director Ava Duvernay (“Selma,” “13th”) couldn’t hide her excitement.

Humbled by the kind words, Thompson replied to DuVernay:

From the trailers released, it appears Thompson plays an even bigger role than we thought.

In the original trailer, she appeared to be a bounty hunter, capturing Thor and selling him off. But with new cool armor, a glowing pair of swords, a giant gun, Thompson is looking more and more like the goddess who will save Asgard. I mean, look at her going to war on the back of a pegasus.

Check out the full trailer below, which racked up an incredible 20 million views in just one weekend.

Oh, and Loki, Thor and Hulk are there, too…
