We Took ‘Game Of Thrones’ And Replaced That Cast With All Latino Actors. Here’s The Result

If you’re a “Game of Thrones” fan then you were probably very excited when Chilean actor, Pedro Pascal, was cast as Dornish Prince Oberyn Martell. But like many of us, you must have been left wanting to see more Latinx representation on the show. This is why we decided to reimagine this epic saga with an all-Latino cast. If you think you can come up with better GoT Latino casting choices let us know in the comment section below.

Daenerys Targaryen: Tessa Thompson

Credit: Game of Thrones. HBO /Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures

Who better to play the role of Daenery than the badass Tessa Thompson. We already know that she is able to rock out as a superhero like she did in “Thor: Ragnarok.”

Jon Snow: Diego Boneta

Credit: Game of Thrones. HBO / The Dovekeeper. CBS

Mexican actor, Diego Boneta, not only has some resemblance to Jon Snow but he’s also been trained in sword fighting. He did play the role of a Jewish rebel in the miniseries “The Dovekeeper.”

Sansa Stark: Bella Thorne

Credit: Game of Thrones. HBO / Bella. Digital Image. Instyle. September 2014

What better redheaded Latina than Bella, who looks more like a Season 7 Sansa. Definitely less childlike and more like a woman ready to take charge of her kingdom.

Cersei Lannister: Shakira

Credit: Game of Thrones. HBO / Shakira. Digital Image. Nueva Mujer. April 29, 2018.

Blonde wavy hair, beautiful and known all around the land.. Those are all things the Colombian superstar has in common with the Queen Cersei.

Khal Drogo: Marlon Teixeira

Credit: Game of Thrones. HBO / OSKLEN. Digital Image. Design Fever. May 6, 2015.

There’s no denying it, Brazilian model Marlon Teixeira looks like Khal’s baby [hotter] brother. All you need to do is add some beard hair extensions and some heavy smokey eye makeup and you have an instant Dothraki.

Jamie Lannister: William Levy

Credit: Game of Thrones. HBO / Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. Sony Pictures.

What about Cuban actor William Levy? Not only is he tall, blonde and well-built but he and Shakira would make a great couple… can you imagine how beautiful the “Baratheon“ kids would look?

Lord Varys: Juan Gabriel

Credit: Game of Thrones. HBO / Juanga. Digital Image. El Horizonte. January 21, 2016.

Flashy outfits? Loving personality? There’s no question about it, Juan Gabriel would be the perfect choice to play the role of Lord Varys. Obviously he is dead, however, they do have holograms nowadays so, there you go.

Arya Stark: Selena Gomez

Credit: Game of Thrones. HBO / Instagram @selenagomez

The short-haired brunette could easily become the youngest of the Stark clan. Maybe this could be Selena’s crossover to more dramatic roles on TV. Plus, she’d be able to contribute to the soundtrack.

Grey Worm: Bruno Mars

Credit: Game of Thrones. HBO / Finesse. Digital Image. radio.com. January 3, 2018.

You might be asking why are we pairing these two Afro-Caribbeans musicians but have you noticed how much they look alike? It’s like they’re actually related to one another.

Missandei: Nathalie Emmanuel

Who better to play the role Missandei than the OG Missandei actress Nathalie Emmanuel who is also Dominican???

Catelyn Stark: Salma Hayek

Credit: Game of Thrones. HBO / Tale of Tales. 01 Distribution

Who better to play the role of the Fierce Lady of Winterfell, who will do whatever it takes to protect her kin, than Mexican beauty Salma Hayek. Coincidentally, she has already played the part of a medieval Noblewoman in “Tale of Tales.”

Margaery Tyrell: Alexis Bledel

Credit: Game of Thrones. HBO / The Handmaid’s Tale. Hulu.

When you need a Latina with big blue eyes and a porcelain-like complexion, just like Margeary, it has to be Alexis Bledel.

Joffrey Baratheon: Frankie Muniz

Credit: Game of Thrones. HBO / The Dovekeeper. CBS

There’s probably no actor that looks more like Joffrey Baratheon than “Malcolm In The Middle” star, Frankie Muniz. As such, he would make the perfect match to play this brat.

Ellaria Sand: Eva Mendes

Credit: Game of Thrones. HBO / The Spirit. Lions Gate.

These beauties might not be twins but they sure have the same goddess-like poise needed for the role of strong and beautiful Ellaria Sand.

Lady Olenna Tyrell: Ivonne Coll

Credit: Game of Thrones. HBO / The Dovekeeper. CBS

Remember Jane’s abuelita from Jane The Virgin? Well, we think she would make a great (maybe a bit younger) version of bad**s Lady Olena.

Bran Stark: Tyler Alvarez

Credit: Game of Thrones. HBO / American Vandal. Netflix.

They may not be up at the beginning of the list but Isaac and Tyler are probably one of the pairs who have the strongest resemblance. Honestly, it’s hard to tell them apart.

Melisandre: Camille Belle

Credit: Game of Thrones. HBO /  10,000 BC. Warner Bros Pictures.

The Indie star, Camilla Belle and her piercing eyes are definitely the perfect choice for the all-powerful Red Woman. Just look at how well she would be able to pull the look off.

Hodor: Luis Guzman

Credit: Game of Thrones. HBO / Luis. Digital Image. AllMovie.

Maybe Hodor and Guzman don’t have the same height but they sure can pull that scruffy medieval look. It also helps that everyone loves Guzman.

Petyr Baelish: Raul Esparza

Credit: Game of Thrones. HBO / The Spirit. Lions Gate.

Some might not know who this Littlefinger look-alike is but if you’re a fan of “Law & Order: SVU” then surely you’ll notice that Esparza is none other than ADA Rafael Barba.

Theon Greyjoy: Diego Luna

Credit: Game of Thrones. HBO / Diego. Digital Image. The Hollywood Reporter. March 26, 2018.

The Mexican actor may not be a dirty blonde with super pale skin but he sure would make a great Theon.

Selena Gomez Flaunts Kidney Transplant Scar in Bikini Pic, Says “I feel Confident In Who I Am And What I went Through”

Selena Gomez won’t hide her scars from the world.

On Thursday, the Mexican American singer-actress posted a photo to Instagram that instantly made headlines. In the photo, she was wearing blue one-piece half-zip bathing suit from her friend’s new swimwear line La’Mariette.

But it wasn’t the bathing suit that turned heads, but the scar that Gomez proudly displayed on her right inner thigh.

In the caption, Gomez opened up about her body-acceptance journey, specifically in regards to the scar she received from emergency surgery after her 2017 kidney transplant surgery.

“When I got my kidney transplant, I remember it being very difficult at first showing my scar,” she wrote in her caption. “I didn’t want it to be in photos, so I wore things that would cover it up. Now, more than ever, I feel confident in who I am and what I went through…and I’m proud of that. T – Congratulations on what you’re doing for women, launching @lamariette whose message is just that…all bodies are beautiful.”

The photo is notable because Gomez’s scar was first captured by paparazzi in 2018 while she was on a boating trip in Australia.

Back then, Gomez didn’t have control over narrative or how her body was presented to the world. But now she does. And a change like that makes all the difference.

Fans immediately praised Gomez’s bravery, adding comments like “You are so strong and powerful” and “Thank you for showing our scars are beautiful and all bodies are beautiful!”

A sufferer of lupus, Selena Gomez has had a long and difficult health journey. In 2017, she received a kidney transplant from her good friend and fellow Latina, Francia Raísa.

Gomez has previously been candid about how grateful she is to Raísa for saving her life. “My kidneys were just done,” Gomez explained in an interview with The Today Show. “That was it, and I didn’t want to ask a single person in my life. The thought of asking someone to do that was really difficult for me. [Raísa] volunteered and did it.”

But the scar that Gomez was displaying in her latest Instagram post was actually the result of an emergency follow-up surgery. According to Raisa, shortly after the kidney transplant, Gomez ruptured an artery. Doctors had to rush Gomez to the operating room to remove a vein in her leg and rebuild a new artery in order to keep the kidney in place.

As of now, Gomez’s body has healed, but as she implied in the caption above, she is still in the process of healing from the emotional trauma that comes with health problems. She truly is an inspiration to us all.

Billboard Listed The Top 50 Latin Music Songs Of All Time And Some People Have Questions

shakira / jbalvin / Instagram

Latin music is something we all grew up with. Our parents raised us on the voices of Celia Cruz and Vicente Fernandez. We cleaned the house and entertained ourselves on road trips to these artists and they are ingrained in our DNA. Billboard recently released a list of the 50 best Latin music songs of all time and some are undoubtedly iconic and others just aren’t Latin music.

Billboard dropped their list for the 50 best Latin music songs of all time and some of them are truly classics.

Amor Prohibido” by Selena, “Guantanamera” by Celia Cruz, “El Rey” by Vicente Fernandez, and “El dia que me quieras” by Luis Miguel are just a few of the songs on the list that deserve all the praise. They are songs that transport us to our childhoods and cherished family memories.

The list also includes some newer songs that have rocked out adult worlds. “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi, “Mi Gente” by J Balvin, “El Farsante” by Ozuna, and “Tusa” by Karol G and Nicki Minaj all made the list. Not only do these songs speak to the Latino audience, they have been able to go mainstream sharing our musical culture with the world. That’s something to admire and respect because it gives our community representation like never before.

The list has proven to be just want some people have been asking for.

Tbh, this would make a pretty amazing road trip playlist if you need to pass the time. Nothing like a mix of Latin music songs playing along to give you a big, inclusive sabor of Latin America through music. A little be of Mexico and a little bit of Puerto Rico mixed in with a little bit of Colombia is pure joy and magic.

However, a lot of people are questioning the list’s inclusion of Spanish artists.

The list has various artists who are not Latino, but Spanish. There seems to be an unspoken rule in the music industry that music in Spanish is automatically Latin music. Fans have long been arguing against the industry’s blanket label of Spanish-language music automatically being considered Latin music.

Rosalía, who has arguably become the face of the debate, is listed as having one of the best Latin music songs of all time.

While Rosalía does make some good music, there is a real push to make sure the artists of Latin American roots are uplifted in Latin music. There is nothing wrong with including Rosalía in your Spanish-language playlists but Latin music fans want the distinction made that some artists aren’t Latino.

You can check out the rest of the Billboard list here.
