Fans Are Confused About Miguel’s New Sound And Not In A Good Way

“I’m Luke Skywalking on the haters.”

A few years ago, Miguel melted the hearts R&B fans with the release of the hit song “Adorn.” The song proved that the Afro-Mexican-American singer was going to be a heartthrob throughout his career and, for the most part, he has been. But, his newest song, “Sky Walker” has left his fans a little confused. Not only has be changed up his look, his sound is noticeably different. Gone are the days of the smooth, psychedelic crooner with a crisp and entrancing voice — at least according to this song. “Sky Walker” seems more aligned with recent singles that utilize a trap beat with spoken word-like vocals that float over the beat. Although some fans are confused, others are totally supporting the change in aesthetic and sound. Give it a listen above.

Some fans are in full support of Miguel’s new approach to his music.

Cardi B Pretty Much Saved The 2017 MTV VMAs After All Those Bad Katy Perry Jokes

Cardi B Pretty Much Saved The 2017 MTV VMAs After All Those Bad Katy Perry Jokes

Katy Perry hosted the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards last night in Las Vegas, and there were lots of ups and downs. Kendrick Lamar opened the show with a fiery medley of “DNA” and “Humble” and went home with the most awards of the night. He won a total of six moon statues, including Video of the Year for “Humble.”  A barefooted Paris Jackson spoke about Charlottesville, and sort of railed against President Trump, saying that people should “resist.” The mother of Heather Heyer, the young woman killed in Charlottesville, also made a powerful speech, and MTV invited transgender troops to attend the show.

But all that didn’t help the show’s host. Perry’s jokes were corny AF all night, and it appeared they didn’t land as well as she hoped.

From the opening monologue, Perry — or Perry’s writers — failed miserably at being funny. The Cut called Perry’s hosting duties “cringeworthy” and described her jokes as “dad-like.”

Thankfully, Cardi B was there to save the VMAs.

Cardi B was sorta kinda the true opener of the VMAs with her performance of “Bodak Yellow” during the pre-show.

Cardi B was also asked if she and rapper Offset were engaged. Her response was classic!

Even when singer Alessia Cara came out to sing “Scars to Your Beautiful,” people thought it was Cardi B!

Watch Cara’s entire performance here.

Then Cardi B came out to introduce Demi Lovato — but first, she gave a shout out to NFL player Colin Kaepernick.

“Colin Kaepernick, as long as you kneel with us, we gonna be standing for you baby.” Wow!

As she gave him props, she almost had a nip-slip!

Damn, that was a close call!

Thanks for representing, Cardi!
