We’re All Waiting With A Tub Of Popcorn To See If Eva Longoria’s And Taraji P. Henson’s Characters Pop Off On “Empire”

Empire / Youtube

In this behind the scenes video posted to Empire’s Youtube page, TV star Eva Longoria dished on her new character for the hit show entering its third season on FOX. According to Longoria, she plays a stuffy Sara Palin-esque character by the name of Charlotte Frost, who gives off cold shoulder vibes. In the show, Frost is the head of the Las Vegas gaming commission. Longoria reveals what may be a major plot point when she says “I do have a scene where I slap somebody so, get ready for that. I won’t tell you who, but it is a lion.” The video then displays some possible people it may be, and Taraji P. Henderson’s fierce character Cookie, who no one would argue against calling “a lion,” is one of those possibilities. Folks in the comments section had lots to say about it.

This Youtube user was basically taking bets.

We kinda wanna see how it goes down, too.

Another thought she didn’t stand a chance.

These Empire fans will bring up the show’s entire history in the comments section.

I don’t know what Antoinette is talking about, but she clearly knows her stuff.

All in all, we’re as excited to see Longoria on the show as she is.

If she doesn’t survive the slap, we got your back, girl.

Ferdinand / Facebook

The classic children’s book “Ferdinand,” as most of us know, is about a bull living in Spain who decides to live a different kind of life. Doing away with the stereotypes of bulls he chooses to live peacefully, taking his time to smell the flowers. The book deals with themes of stereotypes, peer pressure and isolation. It’s a very mature book for a children’s story. Well, get ready, because it has been turned into an animated film!

Forgoing the brutish machismo expected of fighting bulls, Ferdinand prefers solitude in flowers.

The benevolent bull is voiced by WWE star John Cena.

The film’s cast is full of Latinos, like TV star Gina Rodriguez.

Rodriguez is playing Una, a hedgehog who gives Ferdinand some good advice.

The actors were excited to share on social media that they’re lending their voices to the film.

Beloved stand up comedian Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias is excited to be working with John Cena, the only other person he says wears jean shorts anymore.

Co-host of “Despierta América,” Karla Martínez gets in on the action, too.

“Dreams do come true,” says Martínez of being cast in the film.

“Sense 8” star Miguel Ángel Silvestre will play the bullfighter that peaceful Ferdinand eventually is forced to go up against.

He looks just like his character!

“Ferdinand” is a film about the eponymous bull who peacefully defies expectations. Check the trailer out below!

We can’t wait to see all these Latinos help bring this classic tale to life.
