Christina Aguilera revved up for her first single off her new album, teaming up with Kanye West for the hip-hop infused track “Accelerate,” which premiered today with an accompanying music video. This is the first song by Xtina in over five years to hit the airwaves, and fans were ready to hear their anthem.

Xtina gave fans a very different side to her music and creativity in her latest project.

Her use of music, lyrics, glitter and camera work gives a very artistic glam grunge vibe. It is kind of like she is giving her former “Dirrty” persona a nod and it is fierce af.

Halfway through the music video,  Grammy-winning Aguilera is dripping in a slime-like substance while licking it up with glitter lips.

It is lowkey confusing but also very inspiring.

Fans are noticing the stripped down aspect of her new aesthetic, including her freckles.

“I’ve always picked the heavy-handed makeup artists. It has been a lifelong thing to be like, ‘Cover the freckles,’” she told Billboard in an exclusive interview.

The song features vocals by rappers Ty Dolla $ign and 2 Chainz, although they do not make an appearance in the music video.

The hip-hop and R&B styling is intentional, something she wanted to experiment with after meeting West back in 2016.

“Outside of, you know, his controversial aspects, I just think he’s a great artist and music-maker and beat-maker. The artists that he chooses to pluck from different walks of life are so interesting,” she told Billboard.

Will Aguilera be experimenting more after the album “Liberation” is released on June 15?

In case you missed that line, Xtina is doing a collab with Demi Lovato. ? ?

It’s been a long hiatus, with a stint on “The Voice” keeping her busy as well as her two young children. The promotional tour for her new album will be her first in a decade, something she is excited for her kids to see.

“I’m looking forward to getting back out and actually showing my kids what Mommy really does,” she said.

Xtina has also admitted that she is considering a Latin album in the future.

It wouldn’t be the first time Xtina has dabbled with showing off her Latina roots in her music in the past. Back in 2000, the Ecuadorian singer released a Spanish version of “Genie in a Bottle.” Give it a listen because, yas!
