Cersei Really Did Kill Off The One WOC On ‘GOT’ Last Night, Plus Fans Found A Great Blooper– Welcome To The Latino Roast

*Spoiler Alert for those who aren’t ready*

Missandei deserved better than this.

The trusted advisor and handmaiden to Daenerys Targaryen and the only lead women of color on the show had managed to outlast so many vital characters to the series. Missandei was introduced to as a slave in Season 3 of the series but eventually evolves into a free person and one of the most powerful character’s trusted advisors. It’s this evolution and empowerment of her character that earned Missandei so many fans and who were enraged with last night’s episode.

*Okayyy spoilers are here!!*

Last night’s episode saw our freed character captured and back in chains before she ultimately met her death. The worst of it? Her head was chopped off by Cersei’s command to further the plot for the show’s white characters.

Now fans are calling out the show for being at the very least insensitive and failing its early feminist storylines.

Literally no one is happy about this death.

Because LBR it is truly unforgivable and completely side swiped us.

Because apparently killing off Rhaegal wasn’t enough.

After two years of brainstorming this is what we get???

And now our sweet girl isn’t going to get to see the beaches of Naath

Which blows way harder than Drogon ever did in battle.

And way harder than the Starbucks flub the art director of the show made.

If you haven’t already heard, in last night’s episode there was a big post-battle feast at Winterfell. It was all fun and games (for everyone except for Daenerys) until fans spotted one of the most surprising things to be seen on the show.

A coffee cup from 2019 Starbucks.

Some fans thought it ruined the mood while others thought it was pretty hilarious.

Either way, the appearance prompted some gold reactions

And debate over whether or not Dany drinks Pumpkin Spice lattes or cappuccinos.

But that’s not all, there were tons of tweets about the biggest square off in GOT history.

Finally, Cersei and Dany met and the squaring off was PACKED with strong headed women ready to get their way no matter what.

Which of course made for some pretty gold memes.

The best ones being about machismo on the show

“Who rides dragons like Jon Snow??” Like… literally Dany who taught him how.

Anyway! That’s what we’ve got from last weeks episode! While most people are saying its the worst episode of the season, at least we can be happy Latinos turned out for a good show? Tell us what you think!

Nathalie Emmanuel’s Story Of How Emilia Clarke Defended Her Against A Male Costar On The “Game Of Thrones” Set Is Girl Power

There’s no denying that “Game of Thrones” actress Nathalie Emmanuel is beloved by her fans.

As you might remember, those exact fans rallied behind her just a year ago when the series killed off her character Missandei in the final season. At the time, Missandei (who had come so far from her days as a slave in the series) saw her end when she was put back in chains and had her head chopped off. The death sparked a backlash that lambasted the series for maintaining its racial blind spots and doing Emmanuel’s character dirty. At the time, even Emmanuel’s co-star Emilia Clarke (Daenerys) reacted poorly to the death. Clarke who had previously admitted to having a close friendship with Emmanuel told Entertainment Weekly that she was shocked “because it comes out of f—king nowhere… I’m flabbergasted. Absolutely never saw that coming.”

So it’s no surprise that when speaking with British Vogue in a recent interview, Emmanuel shared an empowering anecdote that happened between her and Clarke.

Speaking about her experiences making the HBO hit, Emmanuel recalled an instance when Clarke defended her after a male colleague commented on her “revealing” costume.

“In my first season, my costume was pretty revealing and there was an incident with a supporting actor who made a comment about it on set,” she told British Vogue. “I mean, typical — and Emilia straightaway had my back. It got handled.”

Emmanuel went onto add that she instantly connected with Clarke on the “male-dominated set” when she came on in its third season.

“Emilia and I got on like a house on fire from the beginning,” she continued. “When I joined the cast, she had already been shooting ‘Game of Thrones’ for a few years, and she was definitely ready to have some female energy around her. She and I always looked out for each other… If you’re the only girls on a male-dominated set, it bonds you in a certain way.”

In a separate interview in 2019, Emmanuel described her relationship with Clarke as one filled with learning and love.

“Emilia, as a friend and colleague, is just such a joy,” Emmanuel said during the interview. “I really have thoroughly loved working with her. I loved learning from her. And we just check in with each other every so often.”

“She’s such a beast. As a woman, she really picks herself up and keeps going,” she added. “She’s really inspiring, I’m so proud of her.”

Speaking about the death of her GOT character, Emmanuel, who now stars in “Four Weddings and Funeral,” said fan reactions to her character’s death was important to her.

“It definitely caused me to reflect a lot more — about race and diversity more generally,” Emmanuel explained. “At the end of the day, if there’s ever a show on the level of ‘Game of Thrones’ again, representation has to be part of the conversation from the beginning. That way, there’s no single person who has to represent every other person of color.”

Speaking about being a character of color, Emmanuel said that “It’s a conversation I used to have a lot with Jacob [Anderson], who played Grey Worm, the only other major non-white character in the series. We were always really conscious of how much our being part of ‘Game of Thrones’ mattered to people. It made us really protective of Missandei and Grey Worm.”

Like her co-star Rivera, Lauren Potter became a breakout star thanks to her role on the FOX series “Glee.” Known for her part as Becky Jackson on the series, Potter paid tribute to Potter with a photo and a heartbreaking caption that read “Cheerios Forever.”

Rivera’s “Glee” co-star Chris Colfer honored her in an Instagram post writing that “being close to her was both a badge of honor and a suit of armor.”

Speaking of Rivera, Colfer wrote “How can you convey all your love and respect for someone in one post? How can you summarize a decade of friendship and laughter with words alone? If you were friends with Naya Rivera, you simply can’t. Her brilliance and humor were unmatched.”

Glee turned Dreamgirls actress Amber Riley also paid tribute.

Riley, one of the only Black actresses besides Rivera in the early seasons of the show described Rivera as her favorite duet partner. “I love you. I miss you. I don’t have words right now, just lots of feelings. Rest In Peace Angel, and know that your family will never have to worry about anything,” she wrote.”

Heather Morris, Rivera’s love interest in Glee explained that she was taking some time to grieve.

Morris had been one of the people to join in the search for Rivera.

Reality star Nene Leakes promised to hold memories of Rivera “close to my heart.”

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow also contributed to the comments with a video of her and Naya singing “Landslide” while on Glee.

“Remembering beautiful @nayarivera today,” Paltrow commented. “Getting to sing in this trio with her was such a special moment. I am in utter shock and disbelief that someone so full of life and passion and talent is no longer with us. And completely heartbroken for her family.”
