We Figured Out Why Cardi B. Has ‘Bloody Shoes’ And It’s Because She’s Killing The Game, Fam

This week, Cardi B.’s hit “Bodak Yellow” moved into the number #3 spot on the Hot 100, putting her behind only the juggernaut song “Despacito” and the summer banger “Wild Thoughts” for top song of Summer ’17. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg that has been The Summer of Cardi B.

Cardi B. took to Instagram to proudly share her song’s ascent on the charts.

NUMBER 3 on the HOT 100 GOD IS GOOD??❤️????Thank you everybody. Its all cause of you ..

“Bodak Yellow” moved up 5 spots in just a week to land at #3 behind two of the summer’s biggest hits.

She also spent some time at the Dominican Day Parade dancing and rapping on a float while debuting the remix to her hit, which itself is becoming a hit.

????????????OK NOMORE

She’s also dating rapper Offset from Migos and an engagement may already be on the way.

It’s no surprise that these two have been reportedly dating. The pair recently appeared on screen together for Cardi B.’s song “Lick,” which features Offset. Besides rumors that he was seen shopping for an engagement ring, possibly corroborated by his own Snapchat account, Offset also showed up at her grandma’s crib in the Bronx, the same way we had our crushes come and visit us in our building. It’s an NYC tradition. I bet they held hands in the hallway and made out on the stairs, too. They’ll be smoking Newports and drinking 40’s on the stoop in no time.

The two are even social-media-boo’d up.

It’s actually really cute and whatever they’ve got going on seems to be based on supporting and inspiring each other. A nice change of pace from, “Girl, you’re so fine,” to “Girl, I believe in you… and you’re so fine.”

Cardi B. also recently achieved a New York dream by guest starring on El Vacilón de la Mañana, a radio staple in NYC Latino households.

The comedic radio show is known for making your abuela blush and your mama cry with laughter, it has inspired all the dad humor you’ve heard your whole life.

You know you’re winning when the New York Times writes a piece on you.

Like a true New Yorker, Cardi B. read this article over coffee and a buttered roll — recently heralded as the true hero of NYC.

Cardi B. is set to finish up the month of August strong, with a performance during MTV’s VMA pre-party.

????Sunday!!!

The only way this could get any better is if she performs in the actual VMAs, while receiving an award for song of the summer, with Offset on one knee proposing to her, while her abuela watches from the front row.

This summer really did belong to Cardi B. and we’re here for it.???

You may have heard of Olivia Rodrigo, the 17-year-old Disney Channel actress who has recently take the music industry by storm with the success of her debut single, “Driver’s License”.

Well you wouldn’t be the only one who is thinking about her. Recently, Cardi B tweeted about the viral song, namely lamenting over the fact that she does not have her driver’s license.

On Tuesday, Cardi tweeted out her frustration about the fact that she has to rely on other people to fulfill her late-night McDonald’s cravings.

“Just like that girl [who] wrote a song about getting her driver’s license, Imma write a song about the struggle of not having a drivers license,” she wrote. “I really wanted my McDonald’s at 4am last night instead of today, but I couldn’t so I felt asleep hungry.” More relatable words have never been spoken, tbh.

Shocked that the Bronx-born rapper even knows who she is, Rodrigo tweeted a response back at Cardi.

“Girl i will pick u up and take u wherever u wanna go,” Rodrigo wrote back.

Cardi, for her part, seemed excited to find a driver to take her on late-night McDonald’s runs. She wrote back: “Yaaayyy!!! Let’s go to McDonald’s and get happy meals!”

Cue the influx of Twitter stans demanding a future Olivia Rodrigo x Cardi B collab.

Olivia Rodrigo is just as surprised about “Driver’s License” success as everyone else is.

Rodrigo recently told Billboard that this past week, when “Driver’s License” shot to No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart has been “the weirdest week of my whole life.”

Rodrigo was a relatively unknown Disney Channel star on Disney+’s “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” before this song hit the airwaves. Now she’s a pop sensation.

“So many people that I look up to have reached out and expressed their love for the song, which is absolutely surreal,” she told Billboard. But I truly am just the same 17-year-old girl, doing statistics homework in my bedroom.”

While many people are wondering what Rodrigo’s background is, she is proudly half-Filipino.

While some people have mistakenly called Olivia Rodriguez Latina, she is actually of Filipino descent, just like previous “High School Musical” star, Vanessa Hudgens. Just like Latin American countries, the Philippines were colonized by Spain–that is why so many people of Filipino descent have Spanish-sounding last names.

Rodrigo has talked at length about her cultural and familial roots. “My great-grandfather immigrated here from the Philippines when he was just a teenager. He’s my grandma’s dad, and my grandpa is also Filipino as well,” Rodrigo revealed in an interview with the Center for Asian American Media back in 2018.

“My dad grew up in a house where they were always making Filipino food, his grandpa always spoke Tagalog. All of those traditions have trickled down to our generation.”

For one of her upcoming projects, fans of Cardi B can expect a throwback to her older days. That’s right, Cardi B is stepping into a familiar role before the screen. The former “Love & Hip Hop: New York” star has proven herself capable of making music bangers and in Hustlers she showed that she can hold her own when it comes to the big screen.

Now, the rapper is playing the lead in Paramount’s upcoming film Assisted Living.

Cardi was recently cast in the “raucous comedy” called Assisted Living.

According to Variety, the upcoming film “is being described as a ‘raucous comedy’ with ‘tremendous heart.’ Fans of Cardi can expect a film that looks quite a bit like Tootsie, Sister Act, and Mrs. Doubtfire.

The upcoming film follows Cardi B as Amber a small-time crook who gets herself into trouble when a heist goes wrong. “On the run from the cops and her former crew, she struggles to find anywhere to hide, reports Variety. “Running out of options, Amber disguises herself as an elderly woman and hides out in the one place no one will look — her estranged grandmother’s nursing home.”

Of course, this isn’t the first time Cardi B has been in a major film.

In 2019 she appeared the blockbuster film Hustlers starring Jennifer Lopez, Lizzo, and Keke Palmer.

And of course, for some time fans were hopeful that Cardi would take on the titular role of a reboot of the ’90s sitcom “The Nanny.”

According to CNN, the reality star-turned-rapper has been in talks to play Fran Drescher’s daughter in a potential reboot of the ‘90s sitcom.

Speaking about a potential reboot in 2018, Fran Drescher told Extra in an interview “[I’m] talking to her representation. It’s really getting me excited. It’s fresh and it could be super fun.” Here’s hoping we get more Cardi B on screen!
