We Figured Out Why Cardi B. Has ‘Bloody Shoes’ And It’s Because She’s Killing The Game, Fam

This week, Cardi B.’s hit “Bodak Yellow” moved into the number #3 spot on the Hot 100, putting her behind only the juggernaut song “Despacito” and the summer banger “Wild Thoughts” for top song of Summer ’17. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg that has been The Summer of Cardi B.

Cardi B. took to Instagram to proudly share her song’s ascent on the charts.

NUMBER 3 on the HOT 100 GOD IS GOOD??❤️????Thank you everybody. Its all cause of you ..

“Bodak Yellow” moved up 5 spots in just a week to land at #3 behind two of the summer’s biggest hits.

She also spent some time at the Dominican Day Parade dancing and rapping on a float while debuting the remix to her hit, which itself is becoming a hit.

????????????OK NOMORE

She’s also dating rapper Offset from Migos and an engagement may already be on the way.

It’s no surprise that these two have been reportedly dating. The pair recently appeared on screen together for Cardi B.’s song “Lick,” which features Offset. Besides rumors that he was seen shopping for an engagement ring, possibly corroborated by his own Snapchat account, Offset also showed up at her grandma’s crib in the Bronx, the same way we had our crushes come and visit us in our building. It’s an NYC tradition. I bet they held hands in the hallway and made out on the stairs, too. They’ll be smoking Newports and drinking 40’s on the stoop in no time.

The two are even social-media-boo’d up.

It’s actually really cute and whatever they’ve got going on seems to be based on supporting and inspiring each other. A nice change of pace from, “Girl, you’re so fine,” to “Girl, I believe in you… and you’re so fine.”

Cardi B. also recently achieved a New York dream by guest starring on El Vacilón de la Mañana, a radio staple in NYC Latino households.

The comedic radio show is known for making your abuela blush and your mama cry with laughter, it has inspired all the dad humor you’ve heard your whole life.

You know you’re winning when the New York Times writes a piece on you.

Like a true New Yorker, Cardi B. read this article over coffee and a buttered roll — recently heralded as the true hero of NYC.

Cardi B. is set to finish up the month of August strong, with a performance during MTV’s VMA pre-party.

????Sunday!!!

The only way this could get any better is if she performs in the actual VMAs, while receiving an award for song of the summer, with Offset on one knee proposing to her, while her abuela watches from the front row.

This summer really did belong to Cardi B. and we’re here for it.???

Cardi B Faces White Judges In Scathing “Press” Music Video Sparking Conversations Online

Cardi B / YouTube

The day after Cardi B pleaded “not guilty” to the assault of two bartenders at a strip club in August 2018, she dropped her long-anticipated music video for summer banger “Press.” In the five hours since the video was published, it’s reached nearly 2 million views–a new record for the rapper.

Just last week, Cardi performed for a Los Angeles crowd to announce “I ain’t going to jail.” “Press” offers an entirely different narrative, all of which can only prove Cardi B’s artistry beyond a reasonable doubt.

The video opens with Cardi B heavy making out with a girl.

Of course, everyone has an opinion on this–ranging from it being a stance against homophobia to queerbaiting. All we know is that she uses the makeout for her opening shot and, well, okay.

Next thing we know, Cardi B is casually smoking a cigarette when she pulls out a gun.

After the make out session, the screen fades to black, then to a muscular man getting involved in the beginnings of a sex scene. The screen fades to black and we see Cardi looking like a chingona. Shots are fired. The screen fades to black.

We see crowds of Cardi B fans outside a courthouse with two black women acting as police officers.

This video does an excellent job of illustrating a dystopian reality where women are in charge. Fans are having discussions about the undertone of experiencing police uniforms instill a credible sense of safety in the viewer.

Once again, Cardi B is a fashion icon.

We see her get dragged into an interrogation room looking fly. Twitter user @BlasianMimi is worked up: “Cardi fucking ATE you hear me she did not come to play. The subliminal messages, the visuals, the fashion, the acting. Everything was perfect #PressMusicVideo”

Then, we see Cardi B completely naked with blood dripping down her arms.

@ebuzz33 / Twitter

This feels like a personal message to the women pressing charges against Cardi for allegedly throwing bottles at them.

“B****es in my business, they tryna plot (woo)
Hoes poppin’ sh** like they hot but they not (no)”

In Cardi B’s directorial debut, we get to see her vision come to life.

Cardi B / YouTube

That vision is an army of back up dancers and Cardi herself completely nude with their nipples and crotches blurred out–a recreation of Barbie dolls. In an Instagram post, Cardi thanks her team for making their crotches look “pleasant” because it was “really difficult” to make that happen in editing.

As she walks to court, she’s in all white from her hair to her eyebrows to her toes.

Cardi B / YouTube

That vision is all Cardi B. She says she was very specific about getting that look, and fans have so many opinions about it. White is a symbol of innocence, but whiteness in a courtroom is a metaphor for invincibility.

Her entire legal team is made up of young women, mostly women of color.

Everyone is wearing the costume they’re meant to wear in the arena of life. Cardi B’s white outfit is meant to mean something to the judges.

But all the judges are old white men.

@CardiBCharts / Twitter

Sounds familiar right? One Twitter user was aghast, “14 white and old judges, wow.” Others retweeted that this was the U.S. Supreme Court in a nutshell.

There are white men everywhere screaming at Cardi B.

Cardi B / YouTube

In the trial, all the people transcribing are young black women. All the people in power are white men.

“Done with the talkin’, I’m open to violence
Ask anybody, they know I’m about it”

All the haters are white.

Cardi B / YouTube

The people giving testimony against Cardi B are white men and women alike. Cardi’s all-white outfit doesn’t “pass” for the power as white skin. Cardi is sentenced to prison.

To be clear… she’s committing violent crimes all over the place.

Cardi B / YouTube

We saw her shoot the gun during her threesome earlier on and now, her entire back up dance team are murdered on the ground. Everyone in the courtroom is bloodied, on the ground.

Cardi B is walked to her cell where she ends up drowning her cellmate in a toilet.

Cardi B / YouTube

Why did she drown her cellmate? Cardi shared on Instagram that she “really wanted to drown somebody in the toilet and kill them ‘cause that’s just such terrible way to die.”

Of course, the haters are out there, but the Latino Bardi Gang has her back.

@lilcubanbackup / Twitter

With over 3 million views in less than 7 hours and climbing, Cardi ‘s getting more press, whether she needs it or not. Congrats on your upcoming Emmy, girl.

Cardi B is apparently facing some pretty serious legal issues after news broke that the “Money” rapper is facing felony indictments from a grand jury.

The charges seem to stem from a bar brawl back in August.

She is allegedly facing 14 charges in connection with the incident.

Cardi B has been indicted by a grand jury on multiple charges — including two felonies — in connection with a brawl at a New York strip club.

TMZ was first to break the story.

The incident, which went down in August, was allegedly triggered after Cardi accused Jade of sleeping with Offset. Cardi was arrested in October for allegedly ordering the attack on two strip club bartenders — Jade and Baddie G. The two women claim they were injured during the brawl when Cardi’s people began throwing bottles and chairs.

Cardi B had already faced charges in relation to the attack.

She was initially charged with two misdemeanors for assault and reckless endangerment, but that’s all superseded by the grand jury indictment.

Previously, Cardi rejected a plea deal in connection with the incident, which revolves around two women who claim to have sustained injuries during a fight they allege began because of a request from Cardi.

Reactions on Twitter were everywhere…

But most could agree that this whole event took a turn real fast.

It seems that Cardi B wasn’t getting much support from fans on Twitter.

Many comments range from “it’s about damn time” and “lock her up” to loads of memes and GIFs of people laughing at the rapper’s deteriorating legal situation.

While others were already looking to the future.

I mean it’s a bit premature to be sure that Cardi B may be facing jail time, let alone prison time.

Even non-fans were surprised by the level of hate she was getting.

The only way I could see people being happy is if she actually did it and is now going to face the consequences for her actions.

While many wondered why people were putting so much energy into the news.

To many, it was her reaction to the initial charges and the way she denied any involvement. Many thought she reacted as if she could get away with whatever she wanted – that she shouldn’t have to face the consequences.

To some, there are way more pressing matters to be shocked and disgusted at.
