The Queen Of Rap Shows Love For The Queen Of Pop And We Are All Freaking Out

If you follow the online chatter, it’s no surprise that Cardi B is a megafan when it comes to Britney Spears. So it should be even less of a surprise that Cardi B has come to the defense of Britney during her most recent personal struggles. The Queen of Pop was recently in a care facility for her mental health and it set off a firestorm of comparisons to the 2007 Britney Spears we all remember. Here’s how Cardi B reacted when asked about the recent news about one of America’s greatest icons.

In a recent ET interview, Cardi B came out swinging for Britney and, well, check it out.

Cardi B touched on her admiration for the pop star and even said she loves the idea of a possible Cardi B x Britney Spears collaboration in the future. [gasps in gaytino]

However, things got serious when the topic of Spears’s recent personal struggles came up – including a restraining order against her ex-manager and a stay at a mental health facility.

“I love you and I totally understand,” Cardi B said in a heartfelt message to Spears. “Fame will really drive you insane. Not only will fame drive you insane, but it’s like, once you have money, and everybody just wants to take it from you, or sometimes you just have, like, your own personal problems.”

Both Cardi B and Britney fans were living for this show of genuine support.

It is one of the most succinct ways to explain why celebrities some times snap. The pressures of being famous is a lot for some people to handle. Cardi B understands and even sees hoe it can cause someone to snap and lose all control of themselves.

How often do we get to see celebs having one another’s back? Especially with something so sensitive. People are so grateful that a fellow celeb, someone who has experienced the pressures of fame, is speaking up on these issues.

Cardi B then went on to lament the lack of privacy for celebrities and said she sympathizes with Spears. Cardi B also understands that the length of time Spears has been in the public eye is even more of an obstacle.

“When you’re a celebrity, everyone wants to sue you, everyone wants a piece of the money that you work for,” Cardi B continued. “It’s very frustrating.”

The singer also had a fangirl moment when she saw Spears working out to her hit song “I Like It.”

“It’s so dope because I’m a very big Britney Spears fan,” Cardi told ET, before launching into a little bit of Britney’s 2007 hit, “Piece of Me.”

Meanwhile, the Mississippi native checked out of the California facility after she completed her 30-day treatment on April 25.

Spears herself has also tried setting the record straight on some of the gossip that was going on around her. In a recent Instagram post, she says “I just wanted to say hi because things that are being sad have just gotten out of control!!! Wow!!! There’s rumors, death threats to my family and my team and just so many things crazy things being said. I am trying to take a moment for myself, but everything that’s happening is just making it harder for me. Don’t believe everything you read and hear.”

This all adds more drama to the #FreeBritney movement.

Even Spears asked the judge for certain adjustments to her conservatorship but didn’t get them. This must make the support from a fellow star that much more special.

We’re rooting for you Britney and truly hope that Cardi B x Britney collab happens soon.

Cardi B Blows Up Instagram As She Shares Her Opinion On Best Lighting Options For Sex

Would you even be surprised to hear that Cardi B is at it again – this time talking about the best lighting to have during sex? Probably not. In classic Cardi B style, she took to Instagram to set the record straight, and give everyone the low-down on how we should be having sex. Because we all know that in the modern age, the best way to get your message across on the important things is via the glorious Insta feed.

As any true sex aficionado, Cardi gave us all the reasons why we shouldn’tuse certain lighting.

She begins by explaining why a fully-lit room can ruin the mood. ”If I see a pimple on a n**** face, it distract me from cumming because now I wanna pop the pimple … I can’t focus at all,” she said. Clearly, Cardi B is one of those people who can watch one of those Youtube vids showing pimples getting popped in graphic detail, without getting squicked out over it. More power to her – except for when she’s in bed, obviously.

Next, Cardi brought out the next point in her argument: that there’s no way you wanna be banging when it’s pitch black.

”You know you start seeing monsters when it’s too dark and sh*t. Oh, b*tch, I’m scared I wanna get out of here,” she explained. Okay, so now somehow we’re not only getting hints and tips on getting the best out of our time in the bedroom, we’re also learning more about Cardi B. She’s afraid of the dark? Man, it’s time for her to invest in some cute lil fairy lights or something. We all know that even though that hipster aesthetic is hella adorable, it was really made for people who aren’t a fan of the dark.

And then, Cardi B schooled us on how we should be setting the mood when we’re in the bedroom.

“You know when you’re in the club, when that blue light is on and everyone looks beautiful … you look beautiful when the TV light is on,” she said. And you know what, she’s not wrong. There’s something to be said about the dim lighting that a television can provide. After all, “Netflix and chill” was invented for a reason, right? And now it’s evolved beyond just being a simple pickup line, into an actual phenomenon, thanks to Cardi B.

But, this brings up more questions: is it possible for whatever’s on TV to be too distracting?

For us hippies out here: would a lava lamp suffice? What about sound coming from the TV? Are we going to ignore the initial awkwardness of getting hot and heavy with someone, to then fiddling with the lights and turning on the television? If Cardi’s gonna argue this, then she’s gonna need to go all out and really explore the topic with us. We. Need. Answers. And if this turns into a series on Insta, we’re breaking out the popcorn.

Anyway, as you’ve probably already guessed, things are blowing up on Insta and on Twitter.

The comments were alive with people applauding Cardi for sharing a universal truth. It’s now a fact, babes.

Some of these comments though…

Others were surprised that what should be a sexy night in can turn into a full-on ghost story for our girl.

Maybe not too surprising, Cardi B had her supporters online.

Chances are Cardi isn’t the first one to have discovered the benefit of a blue light, with some fans applauding her statement and making them feel seen.

Things were a bit different on Twitter, though.

It probably doesn’t help that Cardi also took to Twitter to share her thoughts on spitting and sex – and suddenly everyone had to Tweet their thoughts on what was going on behind the scenes for Cardi B. This led some to inquire about the health of Cardi and Offset’s relationship. We can answer this now, for you: they’re doing fine, of course – Cardi’s got the whole TV lighting thing sorted, after all!

Others had a bit of a giggle – because Cardi B was doing what Cardi does best. No, not rapping – chatting about sex online!

A fan or two couldn’t help but think about what Cardi’s comments meant for Cardi and Offset’s sex life.

At the end of the day Cardi B is out here doing God’s work, since she’s destigmatizing women having a sexual appetite, one Instagram rant at a time. Thanks, Cardi. And for those of you who are curious about the original post, we’ve got it right herefor you. Yeah, you’re welcome.

Cardi B Had To Help Jennifer Lopez Learn To Pole Dance In 6 Weeks And People Are Shook

Director Lorene Scafaria’s Hustlers is the unexpected critical darling of the Toronto International Film Festival. And it’s generating Oscar buzz for Jennifer Lopez who produced and stars in the film. It also marks the first time in a long time, if ever, there has been a film written, directed, starring, produced, and edited by women and women of color with this much fanfare from audiences and critics alike.

To play the lead of Ramona, Lopez had to learn how to pole dance in just 6 weeks. While she is an incredible dancer, Lopez admitted she underestimated how difficult learning the new form of dance would be when she appeared on Good Morning America this week.

J Lo dishes on what Cardi B told her about pole dancing.

Jennifer Lopez appeared on Good Morning America to talk about her Oscar buzz and her new stint as a pole dancer.

“When I spoke to Cardi B about being in the movie, I told her, ‘I’m learning how to pole dance and it’s really hard,” J. Lo said. “She was like ‘I know, I’m really good at… It took me years to master it.'”

A crash course in pole dancing.

Lopez shared a video of behind the scenes footage of her at practice. The 50-year-old singer, dancer, and actress said it was one of the hardest things she had ever done physically.

“My core was on fire and I literally had bruises all over my legs — just trying to learn this in a short amount of time,” J. Lo she explained on GMA. “You never know until you walk into somebody else’s shoes what it’s really like. It was very acrobatic, it’s like Cirque du Soleil.”

Hustlers is getting rave reviews.

The film has a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes with dozens of reviews praising the film and particularly Lopez’s performance. Hustlers is based on New York Magazine’s 2015 article “The Hustlers at Scores.” The movie is about a group of strippers who embezzle money from stock traders and entrepreneurs who patronize their strip club. The film takes place during the late-2000s financial crisis.

Lopez says while the film is a fun, heist movie there is more to it than that. Critics are saying it is a commentary on capitalism, money, and is a subversion of female stereotypes.

“It’s a movie that makes you think, it goes deeper than maybe you think it does,” she said on GMA.

The film which costars Constance Wu, Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart, Julia Stiles, Cardi B, Usher, Lizzo and Madeline Brewer, had women at the helm of all aspects.

“This movie was produced by women, written and directed by women, edited by women and has a cast of all women,” J. Lo said to the audience’s applause.

Critics want Jennifer Lopez to win an Oscar.

“With all the Oscars buzz for @JLO in #hustlers here’s an unbelievable statistic. No Latina actress has won the Oscar for best actress. Only four have been nominated (Fernanda Montenegro — at the 71st Oscars — followed by Salma Hayek, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Yalitza Aparicio),” pointed out Ramin Setoodeh of Variety.

The Daily Beast wrote an article called “J. Lo Should Be an Oscar Contender for Hustlers,” writing, “From Lopez, it’s the kind of dynamo movie star performance that gets rarer and rarer, where a character so perfectly fits how we view a performer but still upends every expectation.”

“If there’s any justice, Jennifer Lopez will receive her first Oscar nomination for channeling the ringleader Ramona as Erin Brockovich by way of Matthew McConaughey in Magic Mike,” Variety said

Many feel an Academy Award for Lopez is long overdue, but she still feels like an underdog in the race. As Setoodeh pointed out a Latinx has never won an Oscar for best actress and only four have even been nominated.

Jennifer Lopez would love an Oscar too.

After hearing about the potential Oscar buzz while attending TIFF, Lopez admitted she didn’t want anyone to jinx her.

“Please! Don’t jinx it! Do me a favor…” Lopez told Variety.  “We’re so proud to be in that conversation. I’m so proud of what Lorene has done. I think she deserves to be in that conversation too. It’s nice. It’s nice. You work hard for so many years. It’s nice when they say, we think you did good.”

In 2013, E! asked whether Lopez even wanted an Oscar. The singer and actress responded, “I think everybody that has ever taken acting seriously would love to be recognized in that way.” We love an honest queen. Hustlers opens nationwide in theaters on September 13, 2019.
