Camila Cabello Says Watching ‘La Familia Peluche’ With Her Mom Helped Her From Becoming Soulless Like Others In The Industry

It’s only March and Camila Cabello has already had quite the year. In December, Fifth Harmony announced that Cabello was leaving the group and that they were told via her people. Cabello dismissed that claim but confirmed her exit from the group and future solo career. Since the breakup, Cabello has popped up in collaboration after collaboration with Machine Gun Kelly and Pitbull/J Balvin. And she’s not slowing down…

Camila Cabello is this month’s cover of Latina magazine and she opened up about just about everything you want to know.

In a recent interview, Cabello opened up about her bout with anxiety and just how much it took out of her as a performer and person. Cabello told Latina that it was the end of 2015 and beginning of 2016 that really took a toll on her. The Cuban-Mexican-American pop star admits that she was battling with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and that she would get so lost in her head that it would lead to her losing control of her own thoughts. It was during this time that Cabello came to terms with her own mental health issues and began to learn as much as she could about it to help battle it. Her biggest source of help: her mother.

“I feel like in the industry, there are beautiful, amazing things. But the only thing that I love about this is making music. Everything else can be very empty and very draining, soulless,” Cabello told Latina when asked how she overcame. “My mom’s always been good about leading me to what’s real. Going back to Miami and being in bed with my family all cuddled up and watching La Familia Peluche…”

Cabello continued in the interview talking about her love life and how she is not about flaunting it all around on social media. Don’t go reading too much into it, now. Cabello made it clear that she will not be divulging anything about her love life because it is too important to just throw it out there. As for President Trump, Cabello has a bit of advice: be nice. Cabello told Latina that he is the president and though she was offended and insulted by his campaign and the way he attacked people, he is the president. Yet, that doesn’t mean that she won’t be raising her voice and demanding that he be a president for everyone, even the people he mocked and attacked during the campaign trail.
