Breakups Are Messy, J.Lo’s Aftershocks Felt In Drake’s New Album “More Life”
In an album bursting with dope features, one anticipated voice was missing, but her presence was felt throughout: Jennifer Lopez.
In “Free Smoke” the first song of the 22-track album, which dropped on OVO Sound radio this Saturday, Drake raps: “I drunk text J.Lo/ Old number, so it bounce back.” Ouch.
‘Twas only a few weeks ago when everyone was like “¿Qué qué?” when Drake popped up in romantically-lit photos with Queen of the Bronx, Jennifer Lopez.

You’d be smiling that hard, too, if your teenage crush turned around and made you their #MCM.
They shared lovey-dovey smirks in a two-person sweater-blanket bathed in the light of a fireplace made by angels.
But if he only knew what the future held, *he* might have held on tighter.
And fans declared them “Prom King and Queen of Pop,” as we watched them dance quinceañera-style in what looked like a music video shoot.

I hope footage of this party ends up in a future music video, where he’s watching old home movies and crying into his hot cocoa.
In this video, the once-couple is dancing to the new hot track “Get It Together,” with what sounds a lot like Jennifer Lopez vocals.

The most obvious nod to J.Lo is a song using the chorus of her hit “If You Had My Love.” The new song is titled “Teenage Fever,” which is appropriate if you consider teenage Drake watched her rise to stardom.

Seems like she’s always had a big impact on his life. Poor #Draque.
Now all we’re left with are the ‘what ifs.’
