“Okay, real talk, and we can talk as far as you want… are you divorcing ‘Melo?”
La La Anthony recently appeared on “The Wendy Williams Show” and her interview with Williams covered a lot: the diamonds attached to her teeth, her BET Awards outfit and her nude scene which aired on the STARZ show “Power.” Anthony, the real-life estranged wife of NBA star Carmelo Anthony, has been in the news a lot lately after separating from her husband when it was revealed he may have fathered a child outside of their marriage with an exotic dancer. Speculation about her plans to divorce ‘Melo came to a fever pitch when she was spotted at this year’s MET Gala wearing a ring on every finger *but* that one.
Her name came up again when Chris Rock openly flirted with the idea of possibly dating her if she was single. During a previous appearance on the show, Rock said to Williams: “I don’t know, but if La La’s interested in going short next time.”
Now, we’ve finally heard it from Mrs. Anthony herself. Anthony told Williams that she had no plans of divorcing at this time. And, although she isn’t calling in the lawyers just yet, she did reveal she’s dating someone very special: herself. Check out the video to find out how she really feels about ‘Melo.
La La Anthony is opening up about her close relationship with Vanessa Bryant, whom she calls “family”.
In an interview with ET, the Puerto Rican actress and television personality talked about how her and Bryant are creating “life long bonds” between their children by having them spend quality time together. La La is mother to 13-year-old Kiyan Carmelo Anthony, while Bryant is mother to three daughters (Natalia, Bianka Bella, Capri Kobe).
Anthony has previous documented the two families hanging out together on social media.
She appears to have been spending a lot of time with Vanessa Bryant since Kobe Bryant passed away in January. She even posted an adorable TikTok video of the two of them doing the “Don’t React Challenge” where they listen to old school hits and try not to dance or move to the music. Fans were overjoyed to see Vanessa smiling and laughing again.
La La said that having her son spend time with Vanessa’s kids is “one of the most important parts” of their friendship. “They [the kids] look at themselves as cousins and they do a lot together,” she said. “Kiyan’s the oldest, but all the kids look up to Kiyan.” She went on to explain how Bryant’s kids are always calling Kiyan for advice and support.
La La got deep when she talked about how deeply the two women’s lives are intertwined.
“I’ve been a part of [Vanessa’s children’s] lives from before they were even thought of, so just to continue to be a part of their journey is amazing, to be Auntie La La and to always be there for them no matter what is an amazing thing and responsibility that I don’t take lightly,” she says.
She continued by saying, “That’s my family and that’s what it’s always gonna be. I’m always [going to have] their best interests at heart no matter what.”
This isn’t the first time La La has gotten candid about her relationship with Vanessa. Back in September, La La explained how much of an honor it is to be able to be part of Vanessa’s support system in the difficult months after her husband and her daughter’s deaths.
“You don’t dip out on your friends when it gets really hard,” she told ET. “And she’s going through something that is unimaginable, that I can’t even fathom what that feels like.”
“Just to be a friend and be there to make her laugh when she needs to, cry when she needs to, is a beautiful thing,” she continued. “But that’s what friends do for each other. I’m always going to be there for her and the girls and just want to see her just continue to be strong and amazing.”
Fans may be cheering the announcement that Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will perform the Super Bowl LIV halftime show as a touchdown, but daytime talk show host Wendy Williams thinks that at least one part of the duo should be kicked to the sidelines. The outspoken host and author, known for the Hot Topics segment of The Wendy Williams Show, addressed the announcement during her Sept. 30 show, and she made it clear that she was not a fan of Shakira taking the stage in 2020.
Wendy Williams is no fan of Shakira and she made that crystal clear in her ‘Hot Topics’ segment on Monday.
In her ‘Hot Topics’ segment of her show, Wendy had this to say about the Super Bowl halftime show: “No offense to Shakira, but I think Jen could’ve handled this on her own.”
Williams added, “Just saying, because how long is the halftime show going to be? Jen’s got a lot of hits, Shakira’s got a lot of hits… I know more about Jen than I do about Shakira, although Shakira’s an international superstar — I just wish Jen’s performance wasn’t interrupted.”
Despite the controversy, Wendy Williams is standing by her opinion that Jennifer Lopez should perform the Super Bowl show solo!
According to friends, Wendy Williams is and always has been a huge supporter of Jennifer Lopez, which is why she didn’t find any issue with hercomments about the Super Bowl halftime show. Apparently, Wendy is crazy about JLo — she’s a super-fan, and that’s all this was about.
A separate source told TMZ that, “She stands by what she said because she thinks JLo is such a huge name and doesn’t need anybody else to co-headline with her. Wendy just doesn’t understand why the NFL felt the need to choose more than one artist to perform seeing as JLo’s star power is more than enough to handle the gig solo.”
But the damage is done. Shakira fans are savaging Wendy Williams online.
Now, of course, we don’t condone violence of any nature but we can see where the rage is coming from. Shakira is a major super star in her own right and she definitely can hold her own alongside Jennifer Lopez.
While others wanted to remind Wendy of Shakira’s truly epic success.
Shakira is the best selling Latina artist in the USA and globally. Her 2017 album was her most streamed one of all time and won her four Grammys. Not to mention she’s consistently in the top five most streamed artists on YouTube.
Here are just a few more highlights of Shakira’s immense success.
Shakira is credited with bridging the gap between Spanish-language and English-language pop with her 2001 album, ‘Laundry Service’.
Her official song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, “WakaWaka (This Time for Africa)”, which featured a South African band Freshlyground, became the biggest-selling World Cup song of all time with 10 million downloads. With over 2 billion views, it is one of the most viewed music videos on YouTube.
Not to mention, she has four of the twenty top-selling hits of the 2000s, more than any other artist – and yes, more than Jennifer Lopez.
