Comedian Al Madrigal, whose special “Shrimpin’ Ain’t Easy” recently dropped on Showtime, sat down with Splitsider for a quick interview to talk about life and comedy. Fans of Madrigal may recognize him as the Señor Latino Correspondent on “The Daily Show” or his role in the short-lived TV series “Welcome To The Captain,” but the San Francisco native has spent the past few decades building a name for himself inside the comedy world. The 45-year-old comedian, who has two children (a 15-year-old and an 11-year-old), told Splitsider that he’s considering pulling the plug on comedy by the time he reaches the age of 50, so he can spend more time with his kids. Until then, however, he’s throwing his comedic weight into several projects, including the podcast network, All Things Comedy, he’s creating with friend and fellow comic Bill Burr.

Madrigal also discussed how his time at “The Daily Show” changed his comedy, shared some gossip in the comedy world, and many other topics sure to delight comedy fans. Check out the full interview here!
