Chances are you’ve seen the video for Bruno Mars’ “That’s What I Like.”
On first glance, the video looks pretty simple. Just Bruno Mars dancing in front of a background. But take another look.
Maybe you didn’t notice the animation at first.
But it really ramps up during the video. Like this:
Yeah. There’s a lot of it.
So while it was a simple video for Bruno Mars, the animator clearly worked his ass off.
No pun intended.
Well one YouTube channel noticed the massive workload the animator undertook and decided to do something about it. Here’s their parody video:
The Key of Awesome did an awesome job summing up the torment and struggles the animator must have dealt with while making this video.
At first, “Bruno” makes fun of the animator’s artistic talents.
But then the animator decides he’s had enough.
Throughout the video, Julio the animator uses his drawings to exact revenge on Bruno.
Animators really know how to use their imagination to put the hurt on a person.
Jokes aside, Kevin Rivera, a.k.a. Young Bruno, really nailed the Bruno Mars impression.
Rivera is no stranger to performing. Videos of Rivera’s dancing on subway trains and in competitions are all over the internet. Rivera’s Instagram account shows off his versatility and talent as a dancer.
Rivera barely even scratched the surface of his talents in the parody of “That’s What I Like.”
If you’re curious about the all the work that went into making the parody video, including the animation, or the person playing Mars, check out this behind the scenes video.
You really gotta watch both videos to see the amount of talent and effort that went into making this great parody video.
