These DavidAlvareeezy Videos Will Take You Back To Your Hilarious And Slightly Embarrassing Childhood

DavidAlvareeezy / YouTube

J David Alvarez, aka DavidAlvareeezy, has been giving audiences a look at the fun side of being Mexican for years on YouTube. He has a whole series dedicated to it called #GrowingUpMexican. However, commentary on Mexican families isn’t all that Alvarez brings tot he camera. The YouTuber brings a lot of personality to the different characters he portrays. Here are five videos to show the social media star’s range and comedic chops.

He totally nailed the experience of celebrating Christmas with your Mexican family.

Nothing is funnier than finding one person for everyone to pick on during major family events. However, it totally sucks when you are the one on the receiving end of the jokes. Seriously, have you ever tried to exist in a safe space but constantly felt attacked? That’s life with a Mexican family.

He even keeps things relevant in the funniest way because trending topics matter.

Everyone has been debating this since the video first hit the internet. Do you hear Yanny or Laurel? While most of us might already feel sick from hearing this over and over, Alvarez came through with a really fun twist on the controversy. Imagine how awkward it must be to live as a Laurel in this crazy world.

He gives everything a Mexican spin, even Uber drivers.

You probably never thought about this before but watching it is everything you ever imagined. Low key, this could be any of our tíos with the kind of stunts the driver is pulling.

And he definitely understands the struggle of having a Latina mom.

It says Mexican mom but these are characteristics all of our Latina moms share. How many times has your mom told you a little too much about her love life? Too often, huh?

But it is clear that he is at his best when he takes it back to his roots and gives us the Mexican content so many people crave.

Low key, though. Most of this stuff transcends all nationalities. Every Latina mother, whether Mexican, Cuban, Venezuelan, or Colombian, have a hand chancla they keep around just to teach us a lesson. #Nostalgia

This YouTuber Thought It Would Be Funny To Dress As A Mexican In Boyle Heights But Didn’t Get The Response He Wanted

Two YouTubers, “Kimo & Dani World” decided to use Boyle Heights as a backdrop to whatever YouTube project requires the use of cultural appropriation. Boyle Heights is a culturally rich Mexican community in Los Angeles that has long been a haven for immigrants and the Mexican-American community.

Kimo painted on a mustache, used white face paint, and threw on a sombrero and a cheap knock-off serape. Dani was carrying a camera, filming Kimo in a Mexican costume in Boyle Heights. But the community ejected him real quick.

Apparently, the guy thought it was okay to wear a culture as a costume because he’s Egyptian.

Nico Aviña, the Instagram user who confronted the YouTubers in Boyle Heights on camera, captioned the video, “This foo thought he was gonna stroll and be racist and not be called out. Nah! What was worse is he said he ain’t racist cause he is Egyptian. White girl was recording thinking all of this was funny. #boyleheights”

“I do think it’s funny.”

Though posted on Aviña’s account, a woman, named Myra, is recording the video of Aviña confronting Kimo. You can hear Aviña asking the man, “You think this is funny?” He responds “I do.” The man’s accomplice responds, smiling, “I do, yeah.”

This is the moment before the guy tells Aviña, “F*** you.”

@nico_avina / Instagram

Both Aviña and Myra are telling the disrespectful visitors to “get the f*** out” of their neighborhood. That’s the message they’re delivering these guys. Aviña asks him again, “You want to dress like that? You think this is funny?”

In one breath, Kimo responds, “I do think it’s funny. F***k you. I’m not here to disrespect you, dude.” 🤔

As store owners come out to stand their ground, Kimo says, “I’m spreading a f***ing good message.”

@nico_avina / Instagram

Aviña responds by saying, “Spread the good message, motherf***er.” Kimo keeps saying that he’s not trying to disrespect him, but also “it is funny” to wear traditional Mexican clothing. That’s not respect.

Their last project was a mockery of being “Homeless in Dubai.”

In a tone-deaf endeavor, Kimo dresses up like a homeless person, draws white paint on his face, like his Mexican costume, and goes around Dubai harassing locals for money and jobs. It’s not at all a social experiment nor an attempt to understand homelessness. It’s for entertainment.

This is a shot of Kimo acting like a hungry homeless person looking at pastries. 😡

The video on Instagram has left many stunned that this kind of tone deaf “comedy” still happens in 2019.

@its_me_bina13 / Instagram

It wouldn’t matter if the guy was trying to raise money for Boyle Heights or raise awareness on gentrification. It doesn’t matter what the message is when the means involve wearing a culture’s traditional clothing as a costume.

Most folks commenting thank Aviña for disrupting whatever “message” they were sending.

@WUIXICAN / Instagram

“Bro, thank you,” writes @wordtrav. “damn…que pendejos but you handled it!!! I am glad you and Myra are ok,” comments @polalopez1. “I hope they never come back

Other folks are concerned about the income for serape vendors.

@SKELETO62 / Instagram

The incident took place near Mariachi Plaza in Boyle Heights, where vendors are sometimes seen selling serapes and sombreros. In a barrio where that vendor may exist and other people won’t tolerate the costume, this does spark an internal dialogue.

One person struggles to grasp how stereotypes are a manifestation of racism.

@JACK__RIPLEY / Instagram

There is no footage of Aviña touching Kimo, but at the start of the video, Kimo says, “Don’t f***ing touch me.” The majority of comments are positive, some offer a jumping off point for a dialogue, and, now, the trolls are coming in.

See for yourself. What would you do?

The real message here is that you can’t go up into Boyle Heights mocking Mexican culture. Latinos are allergic to racists and will not tolerate this en el barrio.

A Young Latino Confronted His Mom For Liking His Ex’s Post And She Clearly Doesn’t Care

There is something about your parents staying friends with your ex that drives people crazy. Like, they also made connections with those people and they might really like them. However, should they take your side and just cut them off? That is the debate raging right now after on Twitter user confronted his mom about liking one of his ex’s Instagram photos.

Here is the moment Alan Zamora confronted his mother about liking his ex’s photo on social media.

He confronted him mother with a, “WTF?!” She responded simply with, “Terminó contigo, pero no conmigo.” She added: “She’s my friend.” Now, that is just some cold honesty about the importance of making sure your parents don’t get too attached to your novios and novias.

Her insistence on being friends with his ex led him to ask for new moms.

Who wants to give this man the mom he clearly wants. Obviously, he is looking for fierce loyalty and a mother who will never side with his ex over him. Also must be able to be filmed for Twitter at a moment’s notice.

She even invited his ex over to hang out and we are all dead.

Honestly, we all love when our ex’s parents want to stay in touch with us. They clearly love what we have to offer to the world. However, have you ever been on the other side of this? Have you ever seen your parents try to hangout with your exes while liking their social media pics?

Some people saw this and thanked the universe that their parents can’t do the same thing.

Pro tip: Make your parents social media illiterate. If they don’t know how to do social media, they can’t break your heart like this. Imagine your mom having an entire Instagram just to stay connected with the exes she liked from your life.

Some moms came through to explain what is happening from her perspective.

It is kind of unfair for us to ask our parents to just cut someone out of their lives just because we couldn’t make it work. should they put their lives and hearts on pause just because our lives fell apart? It is a question that some moms legit want us to answer.

There were a few examples of parents taking it too far.

Like, who does this? How does your mom take a trip with one of your exes then send you photos of the trip? This is the ultimate betrayal. There you are just living life wanting to take a trip with your mom then she takes the one who got away. Shady.

Or how about coming home and seeing your ex straight chilling with your folks?

Suddenly, your safe space is gone. You can’t come home and just relax because suddenly you have an ex hanging out on the couch. What a disaster. What a life they must live to do this to their pride and joy.

Yet, some people think that it is actually a sweet reminder of how much your life impacts your parents.

Try not to cry thinking about how much you mean to your parents. They love you so much that they love everyone you love. That is true unconditional love. What a wonderful thing to think about.

Oh, and Zamora wants you to know that his mom is one of the most beautiful women despite the original video.

What a great son. Even when he is betrayed by his mother, he still supports her unconditionally.
