World Famous Astrophysicist Explains Why Rainbows Are The Perfect Place To Hide A Pot Of Gold
Neil deGrasse Tyson took time out of from his busy schedule of understanding the universe to chop it up with Desus and Mero. They just had to have him as a guest because Tyson, in their opinion, is the “most notable astrophysicist from the Bronx.”
Tyson joined the show to promote his latest book, “Astrophysics for People in a Hurry.”

The book was just released on May 2nd.
Desus started off with an easy question: “Explain everything about the universe to me in 30 seconds. “
Of course it was a joke, cause that’s, like, impossible to do. But…
Tyson’s answer was way heavier than they were expecting.
Here’s just a taste of what he said: “The universe is vast and old and we are not only in the universe, the universe is in us.”
This news blew Mero’s mind. Even the bear behind him couldn’t handle it.
Mero’s response to Tyson’s cosmic revelation was: “Yo, bruh. Wow. I’m smacked.”
Desus followed up by asking, “What’s the most interesting fact, right now, that you know about the universe.”
Solid question, right?
Tyson said he was going to give a “cop out” answer, but a “cop out” answer from NdGT is still deep AF.
“This isn’t the most interesting fact, but this is the most interesting thing to think about. And that is: might we not be smart enough to even know what question to ask on the frontier of cosmic discovery.” Tyson then added, “As the area of our knowledge grows, so too does the perimeter of our ignorance.”
Again, Mero couldn’t handle Neil deGrasse Tyson’s answer. The bear was barely holding it together.
Only five minutes into an 18-minute interview and Mero was rethinking his cosmic journey.
Neil deGrasse Tyson then answered the question that everyone wants to know: “Who would win in a cage match, NdGT or Bill Nye?”
Bill Nye doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who knows much about fisticuffs.
Mero quickly jumped in with the answer: “You’d fuck him up because I heard you wrestled in high school.”
Boom. After having his mind blasted into outer space, Mero came back with a vengeance.
Tyson agreed with a loud, “YES!”
My money is on Tyson too! Look at him.
They covered several topics, but Tyson really blew their minds when he explained why rainbows make the perfect place to hide a pot of gold.
Tyson explained that thanks to optical effects caused by light and water, every rainbow anyone has ever seen was their own private rainbow, and that’s just the start… I’ll let Tyson explain the rest.
Check out this clip right here to find out the answer to the most stoner bit of trivia about rainbows and pots of gold.
Did you catch that? Next time you’re faded with the homies or just want to impress a Tinder date, drop that bit of knowledge.
It’s a great interview, and Tyson definitely took the duo on a cosmic trip.
Tyson fielded topics like getting beat up, to classic stoner topics like time travel and whether or not the asteroids from “Armageddon” could actually destroy New York the way the movie showed. Check out the entire interview above, and watch Tyson shine brighter than all the stars in the galaxy.
